Last year of the Apex - "share your Apex memories"

12 129" MCX 200 kit. Sweetest running sled I've been on to date! 14-17mpg, has radared 101mph in 660' on hard snow and 110mph in 1000' going in to a 30mph head wind on 5lb boost.

Got her as a leftover in 08. Made the jump from Cat and haven't looked back. 16,400 miles and has ""NEVER"" repeat ""NEVER"" let me sit or been brought in on the hook. Stock motor and clutch's but many other mods for durability, reliability and comfort. Thee best sled I've ever owned. The wife gave me the green light for a new sled last year. Thought long and hard about an ltx/le winder, but can't find myself pulling the trigger on a rebadged cat. Sorry if that offend's anyone. But long live the Apex, long live the King.;)!

I would like to add while I consider the apex the best trail sled in history, I really need to thank Tom and TY. Without this site and the awesome members this sled would have been traded away years ago. All the durability mods, the proven boost recipe, the mods that make it special and great are solely because of this site!! Yamaha gave us the canvas but TY allowed us to paint the masterpiece!! Thank you Tom, moderators, and members!!!!

Purchased my 07 Attak with 3500 miles on it. 14000 miles on it now. Never left me stranded. It has had it fair share of failures and if it had not been for TY it have been a lot worse. Now that I know what to do to prevent these issues I almost never have a failure of a component. It is now a well dialed in trail machine and keeps up with the best of them in the trails. Many smiles per gallon and many more left. My hope is that many people by a 2018 so in 10 years or so there will be units around that I can upgrade to if needed.

Our two Apex's have given us many great memories over the years. Both are 2006 models, the very first year of the Apex. Yamaha really did their homework on the Apex. These sleds have clearly stood the test of time. They've been like a faithful dog to us over the years, always ready to go when called and never, ever let us down. Here's a few pics to share:

My 2007 Attak GT is the middle machine. So far I have been super happy with it though I haven't owned it since new. I bought it used from Kip at Pat's in Michigan the year the 4s Viper was new. It had 12.000 clean, one owner miles all stock other than the owner added 2" of foam to the seat at a upholstery shop. He also added a 2" bar riser and Yamaheaters with the boost. I got the stock windshield and the tall Yamaha one with the support braces and extra red panels that were drilled for them. I have added the Ripsaw 2 track and a ProLine clutch kit and Curve skis. Those last few upgrades made a world of difference. I did put on the PowerMadd hand guards this year too. I now have a hair over 15,000 miles on it. Other than maintenance things she's been good, love this sled!!!!

The other two machines are my buddies, the blue one is his MPI supercharged 2006 Attak and the red one in the far position his 2011 Apex XTX. The blue one is for sale though.

As seen in the photo, this was taken at Krupps in Twin Lakes, Michigan.

The day I bought my '06 GT & the day it went to a new home.

Great sled. Power up the wazoo. Rode great for a 121". Never missed a beat in the 3,000 miles I had it.
