192 1.64 INS Stingers all doubles. Planning to add every other to the outer bands.

To each his own I guess. We all have our opinions. I found 144 in the middle to be a good compromise between a great handling sled (I like to get the rear end loose in the corners) and hooking up decent on acceleration with good stopping ability.


you definitely went about protecting it the right way..

once these sleds are boosted...to me if you dont hook up the power ...whats the sense (unless radar running) and my buddy who did exactly like you did...with eco trail who said...Im not a racer...Im a trail rider...just acquiesce and adding 48 more...

he claimed as I said...no difference in the handling between the 144 and the 192....but a big difference in hook up..

At 285 hp I can certainly spin the track at most any speed especially when launching from a dead stop. I may add the TD Anti Lag option to my set-up to launch with less track spin.

I also still have the option to easily add more studs outside of the rails but I fear tear outs since all of my tear outs in past sleds have been outside of the rails.

I am a trail rider not a lake racer so I am ok with a compromise set-up.
 
for sure...anti lag with a trail sled AND 144 studs is about as counter productive as it gets...the last thing one would want to do is use anti lag...

If you stay with your setup....a low engagement spring and the least amount of boost will suit it best to "walk out" until some assemblance of traction is found...

I thought that anti lag would allow me to “tune down” the sled at launch to avoid track spin then tune it back up as I pick up ground speed.

I guess I am getting off topic here so I will talk to Ben and then post the answer in the aporopriate thread.

Antilag spools the turbo "up" to have more power for the holeshot. JMO...but I've found antilag to be pretty much useless with trail studs, just makes bigger sno-cones off the line. Sounds cool tho when showing your buddies in the garage...lol You're thinking traction control which is a whole different animal.

anti lag holds the sled from leaving temporarily by stuttering the ignition and gets the turbo to spool up and create more boost fro leaving the line....whereas more traction ALLOT is needed...would be going the wrong way with 144 studs fyi
 
Huh, on my Nytro xtx 144 I run 96 studs 1.50 length. I like Snowstuds excellent lifetime warranty on breakage. I do break a few every year, but hey for 6,250+ miles on this track and studs all is good
 
Im curious to see if you hit the louvres up front...without front protector add ons I am fearing so..
60 miles on that set up without a nick.....like I said, not enough...lol
 
I have 192 of the 1.64" stingers and I'm finally getting good hook out of the hole. Lengthened my limiter strap by about 1.5" and added about 1" of threads "showing" to the center shock. Much better than before. I have just the Yammie rear protectors and have zero nicks anywhere. 2 studs inner and 2 outer. Run my track fairly snug. Stayed out of the center 3.625". Have 24 scratch lines.

might want to add the STM front protectors before the damage?
Nah...tight track should be good to go. Imo I'm not gonna lose sleep over tickling the louver. Plus pulling off the oem tunnel protectors to put on the STM's will be a pita. I know others running 1.8xx studs with same protection and virgin louvers...lol
