Looking for help on how to hold primary clutch for torquing?

Can't believe they want that much on a tapered fit. I believe my cat clutch is 51ft lbs then back off and set at 51 again.

Cat clutch on the 998T? I know the Cat clutch on the 1100T is 51 ft lbs but the shaft is much larger/longer so I would think it needs less torque. The stub shaft on the Yami 998T motor is pretty darn small/short.

Ok I used a broom handle against the A Arm, was careful to insert it into the clutch at just the right spot to avoid any reversing of clutch.

Was anticipating something breaking but torqued it to ~108 ft lbs then backed off then ~60 ft lbs. Not sure thr accuracy of my torque wrench, will be on thr lookout for a new one.

Perfect torque setting... motor fine ? I believe you mentioned earlier you accidentally spun the clutch backwards ? Use a crow bar or the holder tool I'd be concerned the broom handle could snap... Just my 2cents

Yeah I probably spun it a bit backwards while trying to torque it before I knew it was a faux pas. Not like I turned it backwards or anything just a bit. Machine seems to run strong so I don't think I messed anything up.

I torqued mine today, used a hammer handle to hold clutch 65lbs. I was a little surprised there's not more thread engagement (longer bolt). It just seemed like the bolt didn't fit the best in my opinion.

Did you only torque it to 65ft lbs?

Yeah, I didn't remove the clutch just changed arms. I've seen different opinions on final torque values.

Gotcha, I had taken mine off and re-seated it based on what I read and also read some of these primary's may not be tight enough stock so felt it was safer to do the 108 then the 60ish

Agreed. Mine has 0 miles (No snow) so I had plenty of time to do some updates. I'll recheck the torques and alignment after a few miles and heat cycles.
