ps. we have a Yamaha dealer here in town now, open 7 days a week!!!
Fill out your location! LOL Where would that be Lac Du Bonnet?

Is anyone else going to step up to the plate and organize the Manitoba ride or is it going the way of the dinosaur.

Maybe one should set up a ride in the Duck Mountains and move the Manitoba ride to the Manitoba Saskatchewan border.

That is a good idea but I would hate to miss that one.
Any ideas who could set that up and make sure we are all looked after.........................................Turk, would you know anyone who rides in that area a lot?

I have ridden that area. lotsa deep snow off trail technical riding. If the snow is deep as usual the apex,s will have a tuff time. More off trail then on trail & grooming is hit & miss.Saskatchewan side is better. You can pm RX whopper as he rides there a bit.

Well I'm in for a ride out of Lac Du Bonnet. Looks like SRXsex, me, Maybe convert and his wife, Maybe Sled Dog and his wife. Bever is in. maybe brother in law.
So 3 yes 4 maybe! Have heard nothing from any of the other Manitoba guys.
Lac Du Bonnet was great. Food in the Hotel, Pool to swim. Nice location to ride from. So much going for it!
Duck mountain does not sound like what I like to ride. Guess Manitoba TY is dead! To bad it was a great ride with great people while it lasted. Can't believe no one wants to ride! Bought a Manitoba year pass and everything.
If anyone wants to ride around in Eastern Manitoba week of Feb 22nd or later let me know. Maybe a small group, get in some riding. Love to do the trail south from Richer down to the US border and back up to Falcon Lake again. Bever You listening! I'm game if you are!

Charlie there are lots of trails here too. Roblin to Childs lake over to Madge lake over to Rhien and back to Roblin would be good days ride with good places to stop for fuel and grub. I think you will be surprised if you ever ride out here. I am off to work in Alberta for a month so I dont have the time to organise a ride now.

Grew up there. Well just over the border. We used to go to Roblin for beer because the drinking age in Manitoba was 18. Saskatchewan was 19. Yorkton, Springside, Canora, Melville, Theodore, Leross, Lestock, Jedburg, Willowbrook, Grenfell, Whitewood, Broadveiw, Indian Head all bring back fond memorys.
Used to go to Winnipegosis to visit my Uncle in Manitoba. Traveled the border road threw Roblin up to The Pas and across to Snow Lake to visit more relatives. Been through Flin Flon across into Saskatchewan when that road was mostly mud many times. Love Waskesiu Lake north of PA and have camped there a couple times.
I love the flatlands to death but kind of open and windy. Its why I like the whiteshell Lac Du Bonnet area sheltered for the most part. North Of Yorkton is riddled with trails. Used to be a trail called route 66 that went from Yorkton to Saskatoon. From there you would head over to Candle lake and back down to Yorkton.
There is a place by Good Spirit lake you can rent cabins just north of Yorkton. I've done this in the Whiteshell stayed at Brerton Lake in a rented cabin with a hot tub. Quite fun! I've thought about doing this in Saskatchewan as well.

I would like to leave from Fort Quappel up through Melville to Yorkton. Or the other way around maybe if I stayed around Yorkton. Your only what? 40 miles east of Yorkton.
I'm not into deep off trail powder riding. I like trails and touring. A Saskatchewan Manitoba Cross border ride could be fun! Kind like old times but with a slightly more modern sled. I'm game!

Well guys, I'm in for a ride but we were shutdown here for 2 weeks over xmas and forced to burn up holidays and any time off we had, so I probably won't have any time off to ride during the week unless I call in "blind", "hello boss, I can't see myself making it into work today" or something like that. We could be taking some more down time and if they don't want anyone in the plant, I might be forced to take a layoff for a week!!! Not a good time for me, but then on the bright side, I could go riding. With my luck, it would end up being the week before or after the week after we pick here. I could definitely make it out for a Saturday and or a Sunday ride. What needs to be planned guys, Brian? If you guys want to settle on a date and need me to do anything from my end here let me know.

Well I must say that I am very disappointed no one could step up to the plate and take over where Brian left off and organizing a ride. I mean especially when most everything was or has been set up years prior which makes things a lot easier to set up. So kudos to you srxtwins this just shows how much effort you put into pulling these rides off and how well they were done. I will miss the Manitoba ride even though I could not make the last two. I cant believe there is not one this year. Oh well will see if Converts ride is doable I guess. Thanks Brian for putting on the last four rides. Its just a shame that such a good thing is no more! Glad I made the two rides I did.

Manitoba ride or not I'm going to be there. Bringing my brother. Looks like 24th to 28th for now. Maybe one of the Manitoba guys will stop by and give some up dates on trail conditions, I'll spring for the suds!
I'm coming through there on the 9th so I'll get a look at some of the trails at least. I know most of them now from 4 years of running them twice a year.
My brother wants to do the sandilands trail that Matt likes and so do I. Do a run up to Nopiming maybe. A run to the Casino for lunch. Maybe a Falcon ride or north to the park. Mostly just plan a route out the night before after supper.
If your game for a ride be there. I'm not Brian but I lead if thats what it takes. Just not as fast. There is no plan other then to ride. Destination to be planned as we go along. Bever are ya riding?
I've already booked my Holidays and bought a year pass. I'm not going to waste either!

They are announcing layoffs where I work next week 15 - 20 % I will either have lots of time to sled or no time to sled, I'll know more by the end of next week
Guys, I would step up to the plate, however I'm in the middle of a major project, (building a house, planning and doing some of it myself). The second problem is the fact that I have no holidays left, as we were force to use them up during xmas and for the ones that didn't have holidays, were force to take layoffs for that period. It also looks like we will be taking more down time and I may be forced to take a layoff. The scary part is that even if I have time off, I can't control when that will happen.
Like I said I will help out in planning something if I can, however I more than likely won't be able to ride during the week as I can't get time off work. I would definitely ride on the Saturday and if I’m laid off, then would probably be there on the Friday, but I hate to step up to the plate and not be able to follow through and let everybody down. I do have the deer sausage ready to bbq. Well maybe I’ll try and get a hold of Brian and discuss the logistics of what it takes. Who would be in for a ride anyway? If it’s a relatively small group, that would be easy to handle. Anyone want to work on getting something going with me? Pick a date, book your rooms and ride!!!! Matt probably knows the trails better than I do by now, he probably has more Manitoba miles under his belt than I do, lol.

I do! LOL. It looks like I will be doing a bagger trip in Minnesota during the planned Manitoba TY Ride this season. Otherwise I would have stepped up and organised it.hlmrx1 said:Matt probably knows the trails better than I do by now, he probably has more Manitoba miles under his belt than I do, lol.
