Just finished the new install on MCX latest creation
Huge thanks to Erik, Alf from MCX and the guys @ Prince George Yamaha
A couple of weeks worth of fabbing parts to make the monster fit the chasis along with some custom ideas.
Erik from MCX was telling me he had built 2 "race kits" last year for norwegian drag racers......."we'll I'm norwegian so I should have on too" I told him. He was interested how it would work in a mountain sled so they worked on one for me since Christmas and it just arrived a few weeks ago.
Key elements are the placement along with the low boost pressure to make huge hp and less heat. Along with early spool up.
Large 3k external wategate twin volutte (sp) feed
Tial external wastegate with mandrel bend charge tube
Mounted in place of OEM fuel tank
2.5 " downpipe into tunnel
Cold air intake similar to previous front mounts
Used another OEM fuel cell with mods to handle kick in Yamaha tunnel
Mountain Mod seat with trunk back
CR racing chasis mods to accomodate along with heat shields....thanks Chad
Boost seems to come on very low and pulls harder @ 13 lbs than my previous @ 17 lbs.....same clutching
Only one short day of testing so far but I did not pull out one tool on day one. No leaks, no mess, little heat.
Mapping seems very crisp and throttle responsive.
MCX/ PG Yamaha are not sure if this will ever make a production kit but I would recommend it so far. They may consider a limited build for "race application". They can supply dyno numbers........and I think they are the largest I have seen published.
Filming for Thundestruck 6 will be aboard this powerpackage.....and I have a couple new first ascents picked out that will require this boost
Thanks once again Erik and Alf.
Appreciate all the support.

Do you happen to have any shots of the header? That's what I really want to see, I'd love to have a problem free front mount.

That's an awesome kit you've installed. My friend and I did visit MCXpress in late february installing a MCX400 turbo in his sled. Erik was busy packing a kickass turbo kit to be sent to Canada, I asked him if it was for you Climbmax, it was. They had the ThunderStruck 5 poster on the wall, cool. I'm looking forward watching ThunderStruck 6 when it hits the market.
You're right, there are a few of those kits similar to your kit. They are running in the 660 drag races on snow. Some are putting out about 500 HP running Turbo and NOS, those sleds are plain sick. Power is unbelieveable.

Very nice indeed . I can't tell for sure, but are both sides of the turbine scroll plumbed to a single wastegate? Cool graphics .
