Talked with the dealer to find that Yamaha offers a heavy spring for $300.00 for the pair, I don't think so. Well I came up with a idea, seen a Venture Lite at the dealer and checked out the overloads flip ups for the torsion springs. So I ordered just the white plastic pieces there is a left and a right side and the collars. Removed the hook (thats what they call it on parts look up) for the spring behind boogie wheel. You will see the three factory drilled holes in rail behind boogie wheel, drilled out center hole on rail to 9/16". Took the plastic pieces where the spring loaded 3/16" pin should go and drilled out to a 3/8" hole (which on the Venture Lite is spring loaded and locks in for up and down use). Cut the tab on the plastic blockoff and turn it so that it's backwards and bolt on with 2-3/8" X 2 1/2" bolts with nylock nuts. It adds alot of tension to the torsion spring. I weighed in with all my gear and stuff in my trunk bag, ouch 280 LBS. poor MTN. Lite. It works great and I only have it set on medium, if it's really rough it would have to be set on heavy. Parts 1-spring outside 1 8ET-47435-10 LH, 1-spring outside 2 8ET-47436-10 RH, 2-collars 90387-106K8, only $50.00 for parts. My kind of fix.

The reason I turned them backwards was to gain a little more tension on torsion spring. Still in testing stages though, I did experience heavy rebound when it was set at the stiffest setting. If it's that rough I dont want to ride on it anyway. Just needed a bit more stiffness than stock spring for the type of riding I do. The rail on the Venture Lite has a different form than the MTN. Lite so the pin set up would also have to be modified. I live in Munising Michigan on the northshore of Lake Superior we get 238 inches of snow annually, so powder riding is preferred.

I cut some teflon 1" by 7/16" and stuffed it under the spring in the "hook" and that helped quite a bit. Got the teflon from work so it didn't cost me a penny. Still a little soft but I can imagine that the coil spring is a little soft also, so I got one from an Apex and am going to install it on my shock. I weigh in at about 250 with all of my gear on and I also had 5 gallons of gas on the tunnel.

I did it like phazerboost. At least I think this is what he did. I notched mine so they couldn't slide out. They are super easy to install and remove if I don't like them. Literally a 5 second install.

Rode mine yesterday with the blocks installed and it was a nice improvement. It isn't ready for snowcross but it felt alot better on stutters and medium size bumps. I'll need to get some more miles but after 40 miles of trail riding yesterday It was the best she's felt on trail. Right now I have every spring preload on the sled at Max with the blocks I pcitured above on My rear torsion springs.

Update

I have put 400 miles on the sled since putting Venture Lite spring blocks on and no problems yet. The setting is still on medium and the setting works fine for me at 280 LBS. total gear and tools. I would say that the riding conditions would be middle of the road on roughness, bumps, jumping. I don't jump a lot mostly backwoods powder riding but still have to shag some trails sometimes to access good stuff. Well worth the money for me and cheaper than $300.00, I have found that the heavyest setting has to much rebound and just rides to stiff for me.

If anyone wants to keep it from bottoming without changing the overall suspension setup, you can install the anti bottoming blocks used one the nytro. They go in any of the three holes behind the lower spring mount on the rails. It will increase the spring rate only in the last few inches of travel to stop bottoming. The further back they are mounted, the more bottoming resistance you will have.

I'm changing everything in My Mtn. Lite rear suspension to 07 FX or 08 RTX stuff this summer. I rode the FX at the Demo's again this year and they should have put this stuff on the Mtn. Lite. This idea about not needing good suspension on a Mtn. Sled is just wrong. I improved mine with the blocks mentioned above but its just a band aid on a cut that needs stitches.
