I know this is an old topic, but the rack and exhaust turnout appear to be on back order from Yamaha and the after market 40 litre tank won't be available until February at the earliest.

So I've ordered a tour buddy.

Does anyone have experience with the tour buddy on a Nytro? I'm looking for information on how hard installation will be or if I should have my dealer install it.

Once installed and after the exhaust turnouts are available again, I hope to be able to put a small rack behind the tour buddy, after I relocate the rear tail light.

Any information would be great.

after putting 400 miles on ours so far it works great. no heat, or fire isues, no moving around or losing anything.

i did have to fab spacers out of aluminum tubing and 100mm long bolts with the doo rubber stoppers they put behind the seats. they bolt driectly into the bottom 2 retainers of the heat shield on the back of the exhaust. this is a must if installing this style can. the can needs a place to be pulled into solid v.s just having the straps hold the can straight down.

also i did install heat reflective tape for safe keeping on the tank at the front of the tank where it meets the exhaust. this whole mod let you carry almost 11 u.s gallons. and costs approx 135.00 total. ski

I finaly got around to mounting my bag and gas can. I was able to re-use the OEM light and kept the wires out of the tunnel.

WHO makes this can, and how much does it hold?
