Anyone know what's up with Chris and sled talk? He hasn't posted anything in over two months

I'm wondering if he is done working for Yamaha and has moved onto Arctic Cat. I think it makes sense after working with them for so long. There would certainly be less travel involved and he probably wouldn't have to butt heads with the "slow to react" Yamaha bigwigs.

It might explain all this silence.

The MCX kit isn't supported by Yamaha, so owners that buy that kit are on there own. And if your going to boost big time spend the money buy the proper rods wether it be Carillo etc, and invest in a cylinder stud and nut kit.
I wasn't talking about boosting big time, i was simply telling you that the mpi boost controllers with incorrect programming has nothing to do with the issue we were discussing. If you aren't up to date on that, the issue is that the old rods were strong enough for at least 270 hp with boost and the new rods aren't strong enough for either the stock compression 190 kits or the bigger kits with reduced compression. The jury is still out on if the issue was a bad batch of the new rods or if they're simply not strong enough. Furthermore, as i understand it some people have been told by their dealers not to use their mpi kitted vipers until the issue is sorted out.

So here's the info I was able to pry outta my rep. DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER AS IM NOT SURE HOW CREDIBLE this is or if he's bluffing me:

All new Apex Chassis
New 800 Twin two stroke Motor and two new chassis in the Vector
Only change on Viper is factory ordered and installed Turbo.

If I see/hear anymore or other can confirm these please do so.

Thanks !

The only part of what your rep. told you that I find remotely plausible is the factory turbo on the viper. The rest, well :crap:

Even if they do build a 2 stroke I see it in a cat Sled built for cat, not a Yamaha chassi. I can't see yamaha moving away from the 4 stroke. In my opinion this yamacat thing will lead to Yamaha making all engines for cat. The 2 strokes will go in the cats and all four strokes will be in the Yamaha's with cat chassis? That Yamaha 2 stroke rummor been kicking around for a while now. We will all see soon enough!

I heard from a popular Cat dealer a month or so ago that Yamaha will be part of the 2 stroke 800 engines.

I'm going to be on a two stroke next year, but I doubt it'll be a Yamaha. Factory turbo sounds nice, wonder if MPI will get cut out? They've done a great job for us heavy 4 stroke riders and hope they are a part of any factory work.

I heard the pretty much the same thing from head mechanic at my local dealer (not about the 2 stroke thou)-I've known the guy forever and I don't see why he'd lie to me.....

a new chassis for Apex and Vector wouldn't surprise me, especially since the new Single Shot suspension came out last year and Yamaha always seems to have a "New" suspension out 1 year before the new chassis. I can also see them making or licensing HPDI to cat for a new 800 smoker but I would be shocked if it came in a Yamaha badged sled. Only thing left is the Phazer, what do they do for a new entry level sled?

I would buy a Arctic cat 800 twin with HPDI in a Yamaha chassis
