Personally, I like when an engine turns over for a few seconds before it starts. Gets the oil flowing.Dome some more testing this weekend, and the new flash runs perfect with the Mcx 190Turbo.
A/f is around 12,1-12,3. Crisp trottleresponse.
But ist a little bit hard to start when its cold, have to hold the key for about 3-4 secounds before it fires up, but well started i runs perfect. Doesent seems like the map is lean at all, just refind.

Have always used the kill switch on all my sleds (all Yamaha BTW). And with the placement of the key switch on the Cat chassis, even more so. What a stupid place for it. Are you listening ROCKMEISTER??
I have seen this gripe quite often regarding switch.....hmmm

My results from flash. When cold in morning this weekend in Michigan starts right away one try. When it got warm in afternoon (39 deg) it cranked longer before firing. Sometimes it would stumble and I would have to start again like before. I also had some problems when trying to start hot where it would crank, fire for split second, crank, fire for split second ect.. I never let off key. If I tried to start again right away it would do same. If I waited a minute before trying again it would fire as normal? It never did this previously but we were riding in pretty warm temps. (Is this the hot start issue Ive heard about?). Can’t say if it was faster or crisper due to big venom clutch kit installed at same time as flash but either way I like how responsive it is now.

I experienced this one time today also while riding in petoskey. It was an isolated instance for me. Turned key off, wait 5 seconds and it then fired normally. Weird experience and hope it does happen again.

The weird start issue happened 3 different times for me this weekend. All when hot, so we will see once the cold temps set back in.

How do you like the clutch kit? Any other mods?

I previously had the 2 start issue/flash.
I had the new flash done last week and has started better in the garage. Trailered today to the snow and started and ran great. After our stop for lunch it would not fire.... tried 3 times and it was like it was not getting fuel. Buddy on the last crank touched the throttle and it fired. Throughout the afternoon I had the try and fire spit and even a backfire! It would finally just start? Trailer home and go to start to unload, again it spins but does not even try to fire. Get it in shop and on battery tender, went back 1.5 hrs later and it started first crank? Let it heat up, shut it off and try it again and it only spits? My brother has identical sled, flashed at the same time and his fires on first try usually?

THIS is what really gets my goat. The variances. Experience tells me they need to have a downloaded flash right on the laptop and if that is not the issue they need to figure out what is.Newbie here.... enjoy reading the posts but now feel the need to post.

I’m starting to wonder if it’s actually worth taking the sleds in....

Agreed,
I'm running the original '14 flash with no cold start or backfire issues. Was going to do this one since "I thought" it was dialed.
I never cycle the key prior to starting. I just start it like a car, turn key and crank.

I had the same problem today with the new flash, tried 5 times when the sled was hot, it took so long time that my battery started to fade, finaly it fired up. Wierd i have to say.

Had the flashing done.. Sat in the trailer for 2 weeks and went to try to start it and it took 5-6 times to get it to fire and start. It never has done that before. Hopefully this is just a isolated incident. Only time will tell I guess.
Still hope it’s just old gas and rusty valves causing the issues. Almost everyone is a month behind for normal winter.Had the flashing done..
