New Ulmer Racing FX Nytro Turbo Development!!

Wow!!! Garrett GT40R on a Nytro! I fabricated my GT4088R w/ the smallest available .85 A/R housing on my Apex and it was a little overkill even with 6,200 rpm engagement. Lots of initial lag to overcome on the ice, then it would finally pull out of it after 500'. Good luck with that one Allen. You better just skip the Stage 3 and call that one a Stage 4, LOL!

Can you tell it's summer?! We're not actually putting a turbo that big on the FX Nytro folks. We will have the equivalent of a disco potato (28RS) in hopefully next week that will work with some of the room restraints we have!

;)! :jump: :-o

Come on Allen, live outside the box alittle, LOL! Maybe I just needed a little more engagement and timing to make things work on my Apex ;):D.

All groofing aside, looks like you have some nice kit options available to the Nytro crowd, well done and best of luck.

any interest in making a bigger hp kit for us crazy mountain guys i like the header. :jump:

You asked and we've been working hard to fill your needs!

How we did it....we started out with a center section and exhaust housing from a GT2860RS Disco Potato. Due to the intake housing on the GT2860RS Disco Potato being too large to fit in the chassis, we had to take a intake housing off of a GT2854R turbo, machine it to fit the appropriate size of the Disco Potato and we now have a Disco Potato for Stage 3 kits!

Pricing for Stage 3 coming soon ;)!

Ulmer Racing's outstanding customer service, short cast header, custom fuel tank, a GT2680RS turbo, possibility to adjust timing - what more can you ask for  :-o ;)!

Your kit and Impulse's pumpgas kit has got my attention if I am to buy a Nytro

Will the stage 3 kit have bigger injectors and a headshim? PC V with autotune in the near future?

Yes, a thicker head gasket is included to lower compression to 9.6:1 and bigger injectors are included. We will begin working with the PCV autotune this fall, the PCV currently isn't available to the public, but when it is we want to hit the ground running with it.

Oustanding as always!! :jump:

Sorry to get off subject, thought I could ask a question about fuel tanks since we were talking about the nytro's. Is there a high capacity fuel tank for an Apex? If it is a complicated answer I'll start a new thread. Thanks

No, there is not a larger fuel tank available for the Apex.

Stage 3 will be new thicker head gasket, new injectors, 2860RS turbo. 12 lbs of boost on 91 octane fuel at sea level. The kit I believe will be from $6400 to $7000 depending on what options you want with it (clutching, gauges, gearing, etc).

I am really liking what i am seeing!! With the stage 2 and 3 what kind of boost will you be able to run at 8-10k?

cooling

I have questions on the stage 2 kit. I have read on here that nytro's in general have problems staying cool ( only the mtn sleds have the extra tunnel cooler. some say its a problem with the trailtank cuting of airflow. My question is if I buy the stage 2 kit with the excell exaust will there be room to put in the tunnel heat exchanger. I have got to believe that with the turbo that this sled is going to run even hotter, more hp = more heat. and Yamaha in general never has enough heat exchanger to keep these sleds cool in marginal snow or really hard pack like after a rain then freez situation. do you have anymore pictures of a complete install yet with all the latest stuff.
