There are more and more mufflers being advertised that they can be ran safely with out a fuel adder or a tune. Anyone out there plan on trying one out this winter or have used one last winter with no tune or fuel adder?

Was there others?

I know the Hurricane/Hindle was the one most of us heard of.

Speedwerx stage 1 2.25 inch, SSI full force 2.5 inch and BMP full velocity mufflers.
Wow, lots I never heard of.....any pics?

IMO you could do two things to get to around 220/225hp.....a muffler without flash like this thread is about, Or a flash with stock muffler. Both seem the get to about same HP range.

Flash is cheaper depending on who you go with, and you retain stock sound completely.

Either way, I think warranty goes out the window as boost will increase to approx 12psi even with stock flash and a new muffler.

Id like to see a flash, and quiet muffler or stock muffler, and clutching combo that really kicks but. But most guys will end up going for the big HP as the money is all about same cost.

fwiw the ability to run without a flash means they are more restrictive (not necessarily quiet) and will make less power when you finally do flash..and yes ..you will eventually flash...boost is like crack...lol

Boost=Crack.....i was about to type the funniest thing ever posted on TY, but MrSled will get mad since this a family website. So i'll leave that one alone....anyways i do remember when mufflers were first being made, the talk was hp on dyno, but over-boost &/or underboost were discussed so gains turned out to be minimal...

More HP is always a good thing, but for me personally I would just like a muffler that quiet and that I could get to the chain case and does not require a tune. And of course be safe on the engine without a tune.

Yeah its hard to make a quiet muffler small enough for access....it seems the only truly stock like quiet muffler needs to use the stock heavier body, and modded it sounds quiet still....but no access.

Im excited to see a working knock light is out.....Hopefully Dave and Ben will get theirs working for this season too. Then I will go for the race tunes and be able to watch that light, just like old days on the cat 4 stage w/deto light.

The science behind the hurricane-Hindle exhaust is the flange at the turbo. This flange was created for the 998 by us to supply the back pressure needed at the waste gate to control the stock 10lbs boost while free flowing the turbine flow through the muffler to allow a hp gain. The higher the boost (such as with a higher hp flash),the more efficient the flange becomes because less exhaust flow goes through the restricted waste gate and more through the unrestricted turbine and muffler . This is why the hurricane muffler is the only muffler that will dramatically add hp with stock flash without boost increase as well as supply the flow needed for higher hp flashes

Can you post a pic of both sides of your flange muffler side and turbo side I'm curious on how this works this may be just what people are looking for?
