the 7000 is NOT the same as viper, you need to use the cat belt adjuster float we sell

Speaking of float, the adjuster I put on a 2016 LTX has NO float at rest. Will the float come back once clutch is active ? Is there any way to check, HOW MUCH float will be there for use ?the 7000 is NOT the same as viper, you need to use the cat belt adjuster float we sell

Yes And not really, well you could start the sled on a stand and get it to shift out then stick your fingers in there and move it????? but no there is no float at rest and it does come back and you can watch it move while it is on a stand and the primary shifts out causing the belt to move the secondary to center itself

This is a 2016 sr viper stx dx. As I said once I put it back to together and rolled the belt up in place the 2 half of the secondary touched metal to metal and the 8DN belt was loose. Talked to onestopjim and he don't understand why but well look into it.
Have anyone put the adjuster on 2016 viper and used a 8DN belt with out a problem?

is it a new motor 16 or the old motor 16? the new motor has a new (different) jackshaft!

Just checking your other post says took "the bolt and washer off"? there are at least 3 bolts and 3 washers
I did.No problems. The new shaft should not affect anything since only difference is the chaincase end of shaft. If the two sheaves are together like you said either CTC is wrong or the belt is wrong. Pics would be VERY helpful. This is a 2016 sr viper stx dx. Yes the 2 sheaves are were together and 8dn belt was loose . All 3 bolts and 3 washer were removed from back. # on belt is 8DN17641-01.
From what I see i think the sheaves would have to be machined for this to work and the sheaves to come closer together.
I put back the stock belt and installed the 3 bolt and 3 washer. Don's know what else I can do.

yup something wrong there! there are 100's of these out there and this is the 1st one that does not work. and if it is riding the outer rim of the secondary and still loose and the sheaves are together that is weird.
It has nothing to do with the adjuster cause if you are full loose it is not placing any pressure on the secondary to open. I am not sure how the 8 jp is working if the only slightly larger 8 dn is way too loose.
You can run without the bolts and washers and with the adjuster and the 8 jp that was the hole idea in the beginning to make a belt change easier.

Just curious, why did you buy the belt adjuster in the first place? It will work fine with the stock belt so why not leave it on?
I get the feeling that some guys on this site think it's needed to run the 8DN belt, not the case at all.

The secondary can't close any more to bring the belt tighter. 8jp is good with bolts and washers in. Never tired it with the adjuster..yup something wrong there! there are 100's of these out there and this is the 1st one that does not work. and if it is riding the outer rim of the secondary and still loose and the sheaves are together that is weird.

My sled is a total different chassis that all the other vipers. It has the same chassis as the AC Panthers. Wonder if this has something to do with it. Maybe different center to center?

Same CTC for sure. The 8DN you have must be a little longer than some, they do vary a few MM from belt to belt. Did you have a problem with the 8JP ?
