OSP SR Viper belt adjuster with float

I would say if picky every 1500 or so.

Amen - about once a month right. This will save me a bunch on belts, I used to just toss them between 1500-2000. Not only will this give me a longer usable belt life it is infinitely adjustable without any washers. All in all a good addition.

So with this i can slap on an 8DN without needing to machine the clutches?

I could be wrong but i thought the secondary machining was to prevent coil bind of the spring. I guess it may not be an issue with an 8DN as it is a longer belt and won't pull down into the clutch as far. Still not clear on what machining is being done on these secondarys...

It does. The 8dn does help but not completely solve stock spring binding. Ulmers spring upgrade does or machining of Helix or area spring sets in.

Well thats what i was thinking, relieving the spring pocket on either the helix or clutch. I'm planning to run a setup that won't coil bind and also plan to run the stock belt. I'm not inclined to machine the secondary, just primary for O/D. I did receive my OSP adjuster today, nice part.

Ordered mine was going to order one for my buddy at the same time but the coupon only worked once.

ok that sounds great, new to this so thank you for the info,

Which spring upgrade should i do? The clutch upgrade kit for 400$, or just the secodary spring?

I went with the complete Ulmer kit in the interest of supporting a site vendor and also based on reputation.

I also ordered the simple belt change tool to make changing the belt easier and had both clutches machined for full shift/no bind and full range of deflection adjustment.

Can't go wrong with that plan...
