Just wondering if anyone here does the spring power surge program? Is there any real advantage to it other than being guaranteed the new sled in the new color early? I've thought about it a few times, but in the end always decide no. Then I look at end of the year promotions and see the sled that would have cost me $15k on sale for $12k. It seems to me that I come out far ahead by waiting, can anyone convince me otherwise?

Trying to decide myself. I have spring ordered my last two sleds. My last one was a 18 SW RTX LE. And I thought I got a good price. Now I’m looking to add an SE to my fleet and I feel it’s not far off what I spring ordered for. Having a hard time pulling the trigger on a left over when I can possibly sprig order and not have it sitting in my garage all summer.

You will pay top buck for sure with Power surge...There are some good deals on left overs.. I got a brand new 2016 Vector XTX for 8700 us plus a upgraded shock thrown in.. Yamaha didn't waranty this year and model for the recall. Dealer did it for me as good will.
If you got lot's of doe to throw at the market for the newest and greatest then go for it.. in 2 yrs or less it will be not be worth much.

Advantages of power surge are you get the le package which usually has some awesome suspension and styling , also usually there’s another adsentive like 0 percent or free stuff.

Disadvantages are , top price and you are really getting a 2018 with 2019 setup. The early orders are early builds.

Prime example was my 2016 ltx le. It had the old style engine while the real 2016s have the new engines.

that’s not completely true, I did order my ltx le in the spring and I ended up with the 16.5 motor

Absolutely. I guesse I’m saying there is some risks in the early build. I’m not saying all the time.

I might power surge an srx

I waited till the middle of Feb.
to buy mine. It's an LE, was 4k cheaper than the beginning of the year

I spring ordered mine. I negotiated a price, had two thousand knocked off the top got the three year warranty and extras that come along with it. All in all i paid probably about the same factoring it all in that a 17 left over would have cost with an added warranty tacked on. I am happy with it and never had a second thought.

I power surged my 2018 Vector. Received 3 yr. warranty, 600 dollars in accessories, updated new fox shock & 50th Hat & Bag.

You don't need a 3 yr warranty with a Vector.. :) or for that matter don't need a 1 yr.. All you need to do is start it up and give a bit of throttle sitting there and you'll know to sign the check and close the deal.

I spring order. I feel it’s worth it. Better warranty, better finance options. Usually some free stuff or extra money off to be had. What I paid for mine in spring was less than I can buy a left over now for. Not to mention I didn’t have to store or pay for it all summer when I wasn’t able to ride it yet.

Alright just did a search on Yammi's website to see where the locations for the Spring shows would be. They are showing NOTHING! I sure hope my info is incorrect and there will be a Spring tour. If not, they've sunk to a new LOW, and shows how much interest they have in marketing snowmobiles.

Guess I'll have to go see the Doo's and Poo's.

By releasing an all arctic cat lineup, they have proven to me that they do not care at all about the Yamaha faithful. And if rebadging another sled manufacturers products is the best they can do, goodbye, don't let the door hit ya. That's about as lame as you can get. Imagine putting Camaro badges on a mustang, calling it a Chevy. Lol. I can't believe people even go for that crap. Should be illegal

I believe we are witnessing the end of the Yamaha snowmobile line. At least they paid a final tribute to perhaps their greatest contribution to snowmobiling.

The SRX!

In the words of Mr Spock, Live Long and Prosper!

I feel early orders are basically for the guy who's looking for the latest & greatest, right or no?
Same guy could buy a leftover on the cheap, if he chose to. Today I'm saying.

In Oct '16 I walked into my dealer and had a new winder just come in. So, he knocked $900. Off and I bought the 4yr warranty for like $300. Whatever.
