Primary clutch exploded

Cant say the same for mine. I have some bronze roller bushings I will be testing. I am going to look for some bronze for the weights also.

G-force, but they use the stock Yamaha bushing. The bushings where not new this year, probably 2500 miles. I just installed some bronze bushings that I also got from G-force.. I may order some other bronze bushings to test also for the weights.

A stock Sidewinder came in for clutching and the clutch is cracked on 2 of the clutch weight pockets thru the allen screw holes and towards the top. 1,486 miles bone stock

Just backed mine in the shop. Has what appears to be the same marks,( although your pics aren't real clear.) Took a rag with a bit of brake clean and wiped them off.

WTF is going on? That is not good. Really would like to know what’s causing this? Harmonics? Over torqued set screws? What’s crazy is it’s stock ones not just boosted up ones. That’s really low miles. Any indicators from the owner of this clutch in the picture?

Had my clutches all apart today. 5200 miles and change. They look great!! I will say the 8jp is a dirty belt. Plenty of belt dust in 800 miles. The 8DN is much cleaner.

What's not good? I don't see any cracks.

Would be nice to get a better picture of the cracks Terry just so we know what and where to look. Awesome you caught it before failure. Scary.

I don't see any cracks there. Dirty, but no cracks I can see there.
