I agree & I like the idea!
I have a Cat also & believe it or not, IT IS WORSE than the SW!!!
Even Harder to get to & freezes overnight.
I HATE having to take my glove off to start my sled. Such a dumb idea...
Makes you wonder: Did someone even ride this sled & USE the switch (with SNOWMOBILE Gloves) prior to manufacturing?
The man behind Yamaboosters is using big gloves? How ironic
I tried my friends 2014 Arctic Cat turbo (Suzuki) and although worst than my Apex I had no problems getting to the key with my Yamaha gloves. Only 50 grams thinsulate on the inside and 150 on the outside. With Yamaboosters I can ride to -20C no issues. With thinner gloves I love felling the handlebars for better grip. Tried Klim's with 200 grams inside and 250 outside and no way did I fell as much in control.
So to me Roch you should design the Yamacat booster instead and you all can get thinner gloves.

I couldn't agree more. My grips seem great at times, and other times they seem to really suck. Apparently I have to ride at some unknown rpm, for some unknown length of time...to get any decent heat. The only time the bars got hot, was riding in severe powder, with massive track spin...about 6800+ rpm. Anything below 50 mph, and I get very little heat.
At 800 miles, they seem a bit better, especially with thin gloves.....but I have my reservations.

Would a three foot cord extension along with a bracket work to remount the existing key switch to the handlebar center? Or a plug and play connector that plugged into the back of the key switch and had a push button mounted on bars?
I would choose the first choice, but I'm a flat land rider with establishment stops in mind.

It's not actually a glove issue, it is a poorly designed switch issue.
Expecting riders not to wear gloves to be able to use a snowmobile is absurd.
A user controlled grip controller is in the works, the poor switch position is a totally separate issue.

It will be interesting to see what both look like and how they differ. Keep us posted

What do people think of incorporating a tether in the push button start system? I think that might be a logical combination and a cost effective solution.
That's what I will do if its offered. Have the tether already and attach to jacket before ever getting on sled. Only remove key at night so no one steals the key. Yes tethers are easy to come by and easy to defeat but reality is if someone really wants your sled they are going to get it. key is just a small deterrent. Maybe could make the switch/button wire in piggyback to the key switch and hide the key switch under dash or something so guy could disable sled further if in a shady area. But really could just pull a fuse if that's concern. What do people think of incorporating a tether in the push button start system? Having a handlebar mounted tether connection would be a bad idea. Too easy for the cord to get caught on the flipper.

Getting rid of the flipper solves a lot of issues.
My tether is mounted down by the Fuel Filler Neck. Never had a issue.Having a handlebar mounted tether connection would be a bad idea. Too easy for the cord to get caught on the flipper.

Lol I was thinking of re-mounting key switch somewhere else this summer and maybe a push button start. Too funny
