There is pride. Mine is hurt by Yamaha but not enough to stop me from buying the most sled for my $. The Yamaha engine still gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. The front end and handling. Wow! Rest of sled is ready to break at any time. As have all sleds Yamaha or any other brand I have ever seen. It’s a snowmobile Clutchmaster. You know it’s not if but when. Biggest reason many older Yamahas never broke was the suspension sucked so bad you couldn’t ride them fast enough or long enough to break them! You know that’s true.

WHO CARES!!!! Don't drive them then. Go buy something else. All your posts come with nothing but tears. I will say that you do have a nice display pic. But that's all you have going for you.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
Just the facts bro. Please correct me if I’m wrong but between the Viper and the Sidewinder I do believe we have the most problematic snowmobile from Yamaha in the last 20 years and it’s a four stroke ta boot!
Thanks for belittling me, it shows how intelligent you really are.

When a sled beats you up, it’s getting beat up too. I’m older and slower now, so I can say with certainty my older Yamaha’s took more of a licking than my newer Viper with the legendary RR skid.
People don’t like negativity, I get that. BUT if you just stand by and say, Oh well I’m still gonna buy a yamaha, just for the simple fact it’s got the Yamaha sticker on it, your substantiating Yamaha’s decision to sell rebranded cheaply made snowmobiles.
People have become more concerned with gadgets and appearance than reliability, this is noticed buy the manufacturers and they have delivered. They know you will buy less reliable machines as long as it has plenty of bells and whistles.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

No we ride 1500 to 2000 miles a year of beat to #*$&@ Gaylord trails. Not one mechanical issue wrong with either sled. I do meticulous routine maintenance on all my stuff. In fact I had my first bearing ever fail on my old 04 viper with 12000 miles let go last winter taking out chain case. Easy fix but eventually they fail. Maybe you got a bad one who knows? Lots of perfectly running vipers out there with no problems. Just this site is about fixing so we hear about a lot.You put on like 10 miles a year?
The drivetrain is seriously flawed bro.
I’ve had upper chain case bearing, loose lower driveshaft bearing, brake pad came unglued, tensioner loose, worn chaincase bushings, bent upper cross shaft.

Sounds like it’s time to find a better dealer. 6 days let alone 6 weeks is unacceptable. My dealer would have given me a loaner for sure. Money bags no. I work hard for my money and like to play hard also. I buy what’s important to me. I’m driving a POS beater truck with no payment so I can drive new sled. Most enjoy a reliable sled. I was under warranty and had issues, they didn’t get it figured out for 6 weeks. Towing out of the woods and ruined our trip is not for me.
I used to pay extra for reliability, not an option anymore I guess......Mr. Moneybags.

Now this man is dedicated to riding.
Drives a POS truck 10,000 miles a year so he can ride a new sled for 2.
I like re-naming our Moderators. Keeps them on their toes.

I'm actually VERY happy with my sled.
AND i know with the miles i put on and the WAY i put them on, i'd be working on ANY sled i buy.
And YES, this is mostly a "fix-it" sight so only the "fixes" will be discussed.
We just want the obvious fixable problems that have been here for 8 years to be addressed by the manufacturer
They won't.................................so we bitch.................................and then we come on this forum & fix them ourselves
