You were looking into upgrading it to a MCX400 earlier this winter. Did you see the add on www.autodb.no - used mcx400 for sale (just the turbo)?

I have learnt a few things about the MCX400 that is not favorable in my application. It makes the HP but it doesn't have the response in a rearmount application. I'm into a decision process on what to do for next year, whatever I decide on it will be posted in this thread.
It was not possible to get rid of the sled for the very cheap price I was asking, no need to give the sled away. I will continue upgrading my old lady, after all she only has 13700+ kms on the odo.

Just wanted to let you know - incase you were still considering the upgrade .
I have a friend that sold/traded the MCX 400 setup in favor to the standard setup. It had to much lag in his opinion – not trail friendly according to him.
I play with the thought of converting the Bender to a mid mounted system. There were some good pics of a Bender kit converted to a mid mount by impulse on SW. It had a rev seat and gas tank- very tempting
I totally agree with you - there is plenty of guys "giving" away their turbo sleds at the moment. The "Nytro-hype" is making plenty of guys lose their mind in my opinion. This is not good for other guys trying to sell their turbo sleds.
I only have 5500km on the ODO - that's why I'm in no hurry to sell. I want to see the new version of the apex before I make up my mind. I like the idea of the shorter rods on the apex/rx-1 engine when boosted.

Thank you TT for bringing it to my attention
No, I'm not considering a MCX400 in a rearmount application anymore. If I go midmount that's a whole new story.
I'm also thinking of converting my MCX 16T to a front- or midmount system. My plan was to sell the old sled and put the money into building my Apex RTX as my next dream machine. We'll see what happens over summer.
BTW - thanks for sharing info on the fuel pressure regulator pressure source

So you decided NOT to sell it? LOL....
Did you see the TRX on Autodb for 65000? I'm thinking about it..for such a cheap price, I can build the sled I want... I still have all the parts needed, and I think I can get Dave to build it to a mid/front mount..shouldn't be to hard...
But, there's another sled that got MY attention now..I'll let you know how things work out...
Keeping the RTX stock for now? Are you done riding for the season? To bad it didn't work out for us this season...next season is a MUST....

2 guys were testdriving my turbo sled, both wanted to buy it but had to sell their sleds first :-(
I guess noone wanted a Summit 1000 or a Bearcat that late in the season. I changed out the front heat exchanger and left running board exchanger, pricey uhhhh, but no more coolant leakage.
No I have not browsed Autobe.no lately. That's a bargain, what year is that TRX, go get it or løp og kjøp. Do you have the ZX-2, put it in it works very well on a turboed sled, no problem with the ZX-2 in my sled for 3600+ kilometers or 2100+ miles.
I have also been thinking of a midmount conversion for my TRX if I cannot finance a new kit for my Apex RTX.....hmmmmmmm... maybe Dave can build something for us?
PM me on the other sled and other turbo stuff when you find out
Yeah the RTX will remain stock until I have decided on what to do with the TyrannosaurusRX. I'll PM you when I have decided on a project for next year.
I had my last ride last sunday. Great conditions and still a lot of snow to the north close to the coast.
Take a look at http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... &start=150
Yes it is, and we better be prepared with some good running sleds hahaha, gotta give them MCX'ers a run for their money even if I'm still partly running a MCX system.
A local TY-ride next season is a must that's for sure. See ya later buddy. rxrider

LOL...those aren't the easiest sleds to sell I guess.... Not at the end of the Season anyway...
I saw you fixed your sled...Looks really good...hope it works as good for you next season as it has so far...
Thare's no problem converting it to a mid/front mount...just a new header and downpipe, and you're good to go...
I'm not sure what to do for next season as of yet..have a couple of ideas...Whatever it is, I'm positive it'll be 4 strokes with forced air induction.. That RX was a 03 mtn...I was thinking about it, but it would still cost atleas 50-60 k NOK to get it to be the sled I want.. If the other projects fail, I'll give the guy a call...
You've got alot of good rides this season..I'll try to take more time off next season to ride with you...I've had WAY to much work this season...
I'll let you know what we find out about the other stuff..depends on what MY project will be....I'll get in contact with Dave again...
We'll be sure to give EVERYONE a run for they're money...I'm pretty sure I wont we on a MCX turbo'd sled...
Have fun....Bull

Hahaha - only partly MCX for me on the tyrannosaurusRX, or if I'm able to boost the RTX it's not gonna be MCX this time around, time will tell.

SEASON 2008/2009 - Snow is gone and the upgrading of my TReX continues.
Parts ordered:
- All four 2005 RX-1 A-arms ordered from member donbarb
- Wildchild steering relocation kit ordered from member snomadTT
Parts planned for:
- turbo header for MCX from Powderlites
- turbo downpipe
- Ski-Doo REV gas tank, I need the range of a 11 gallon tank
- Excell or similar exhaust
Tear down starts sometime next week.
Let the mods begin
I will cover the upgrade in text and pics thruout.

Kinger - I bet you do. At least you have your 80 HP shot. Sounds fun to me - throttle response are great, much better than a turbo sled?. I guess you can easily pull by most sleds out there on the trail
