rxrider's Turbo Garage - pics back, will continue

Cars will have to stay outside as allways, I'm always too late in the morning so to cut time the car are always outside, that way I get to work in time not having to open the garage door first hahaha :)

Here's how it turned out - rxrider's Turbo Garage

My sleds are way more important than any car so they get to stay inside while the car has to stay outside year around.

WOW...that looks like just what I have in mind for my garage..except you seem to be missing a computer..I just printed the whole service manual for the RX-1 last night at work...let's just say I'm glad I didn't do THAT at home....330 pages...lots of paper....

Well...My parts for the ZX2 is in, so I guess I'm ready to come over for some coffee and Installing...Just need to get some time of from work first..LOL...

But..I guess you could save some time in the winter if your cars where inside... Lot's of snow on them probably during the winter, huh???

but.... :yam:

SEASON 2008/2009 - edited

The turbo project never ends - new stuff to install before and during the coming season.

- '05 RX-1 A-arms and bushings, painted black
- Wildchild steering relocation kit and steering ball joints and bushings
- REV gas tank
- Front turbo header, designed and manufactured by Need for Speed 2
- Double divorced downpipe, designed and mnufactured by Need for Speed 2
- Garrett GT2860RS turbo, prepared by Dave @ Powderlites
- Meth injection, from Hurricane
- Turbo carb springs, from Hurricane

This year I'm doing major upgrades to my turbo kit: new header, new turbo, new downpipe and fuel system. I will do the upgrade in steps cause my plans skyrocketed and I can't affort to buy all the stuff I need at once, the meth injection have to wait until late autumn. It will be great fun to start the build.

Some parts are already in house and some are under planning. Decisions have been made, I'm ready to order. I will start working on installing the parts I have any day soon. All parts of the work will be in here both in pics and words.

obr - you have to take a closer look, my black laptop is on the work bench just to the left of the wildchild steering relocation kit or just above the seat of the RX-1 turbo sled :)

Hahaha we usually get very little snow here in Lakselv, and beeing cold and dry when snowing snow doesn't stick to the car, all I have to do is wipe the windscreen a little and the rest blows off before I'm at work 5 minutes later ahahahaha I know - I'm lazy

Your sled will REALL kick some a$$ next winter Jan-Ove...Get Jan-Ole and the guys to setup a 'custom-yamaha' meeting in Lakselv this winter...should be great to meet some guys and see their sled, and great advertising for them too....

I saw there was a REV-tank for sale on auto-db a while back, or have you already bought one?

oh, I can see the laptop now...goooood.....LOL...

We'll setup a date and I'll come over...I'm taking my motor apart to see if I need your pistons before I come over... Just need to rip the head of...we might even change pistons too when I'm over there? Think we can get it all done in a day? I'll just get the 05 rings for it...

From what I have learnt recently my little Mitsu has to go. I'll be going with a Garrett, a good front or midmount header and a double divorced downpipe to go with it. Not what I had in mind earlier on, but it's the only way out, I'm not going to run a rear mount anymore.

I've got hold of a brand new rev tank. Used tanks can be though to get shipped as many shippers refuses to touch a gas tank that has been used.

We'll figure out a time. Just PM or call me when you have time off work. I'm coming over to pay you a visit this coming friday, see ya.

well, you know where to get all the stuff you need :)

Sure, I'm going home on thursday, so if I'm not to tired, I'll start tearing apart the motor.... And have some good amount off coffee ready for you...

Yeah I know where to get the best parts out there, and that's where my parts are going to come from :) BTW any good news lately to share with me?

I'm driving over to Alta on friday, I'll give you a call when I arrive, will tell you more about my project then. I've got a few crazy ideas coming up lately hahaha :) it's going to be a fun building season.

No more info yet other than what we already know.... And, my Nytro kit should arrive any day now :)

give me a Call, I'm driving to Alta Thursday morning and staying until Friday evening...Hopefully I'll be awake enough to take the suspension out and opening the motor.

You lucky .... see ya on friday

SEASON 2008/2009 - UPDATE July 1. - Painting the A-arms

Finally got started working on the sled. I have prepared the A-arms for painting by sanding them a little with 1200 grip paper, then wiped them clean with a rag soaked in 70% alcohol (not the drinkable stuff, :drink: , but doctor's stuff). I hung them A-arms up and started painting them black. They have got 3 layers of black over the candy red. Will let them dry some then spray the last 2 layers of clear transparent paint and they're done.

I have ordered a new RH side steering knuckle to replace the slightly bent one I have in there now. When I get it I will clean and paint the LH side (black already) and the new RH side steering knuckle.

Before installing the Wildchild steering relocation kit my plan is to change out all ball joints and bushings in the steering, will order the parts soon.

You sir have a modding problem, and I want to thank you because you make me actually look sane!! :)

Nice job, looking forward to watching the mods get installed, I can't imagine what a rocket that sled must be!

MAN...that's just insane buddy. I thought I was going to have one of the fastest, most responsive turbosleds over here, but I'm sure yours will be ALMOST as fast as mine...LOL...J/K...

Good to see your garage is done so you can start working on the sleds again!!! :4STroke:
