Nice turbosled....!!
But wrapping the turbo in a blanket and the alminium shield will cause the turbo to get too hot?? It seems you should want theheat out of there and not keep it in?? The oil must be boiling in the turbo...
Or am I totaly wrong??

The turbo is oil and water cooled, I want the heat to escape out the exhaust not melt everything around the turbo. Heat drives the turbine, not the exhaust alone, the hotter the gasses the faster they move, the better the response.... I will have to drive slow and idle a bit before shutting down the sled, I can live with that.

You are correct, the water will help it from getting too hot. And it will be important to let it cool down before stopping the sled....
But its a fact too much blankets/shields can get the oil too hot. Hope it works out for you!!
And again nice sled

standard - relax, riding season is just winding up around here. The sun is back and the cold weather will still be here for another month before temps are getting a bit warmer in late february. Our trails are open until May 5th so I'm in no hurry, BTW in the meantime my stocker is doing a great job hahahaha

Update January 24. - Finishing off steering column install. Finishing off meth injection install. Installing throttle and chocke cables. Hooking up electrical plugs and wireing. Cutting out the hood to make it fit. Testing ignition circuitry.
Last work on the steering column install was locking down the nuts holding it together. Steering done.
Last work on the meth injection install was adding the meth tanks and hooking up the meth lines. Meth done.
With the help of my friend Mikkel I got the throttle- and chocke cables installed and adjusted.
Next was hooking up all electrical plugs to the handlebars.
Cutting out the hood to fit over my new turbo configuration was a bit of work. Cut some, does it fit? No! Cut some, does it fit? No! you know the drill Finally done.
I gotta fix the hood up and add some strenght to it. I plan on using some fiberglass and make a scope for the air filter and to cover the areas that don't need to be open. Hahahaha I went crazy cutting the hood and headlight out to make it fit. Thinking of throwing the headlight away and mount a pair of high performance LED lights in.
I also had to cut out the hood to make room for the meth injection nozzles
Last I connected the ignition switch, put in the key in and ran the key to the ON position, the fuel pump came to life and no fuses blew. I have the fuel tank and seat left to install before takeoff. Gotta syncronize the carbs as well. I'm getting there finally

Update February 2. - Installing fuel tank. Insulating meth lines. Installing seat. Fireing up the engine. Syncronizing carbs. Changing out leaky oil line and finishing off wireing and plumbing under the hood. Adding more vents to the plastic covers. Installing plastics and covers. It's done, time to ride and tune.
I have finally got the time to finish off my sled build, I'm actually ready to ride
Last work was done during the last few days, nights and early mornings. I have been working on the sled until 3AM lately. Progress have been made and I'm done, sort of
Installing the fuel tank.
Got the tank installed after moving my rear meth tank forward some to make more room for the fuel tank.
Installed the fuel line, fuel return line and the vent line.
Insulated the meth line running in front of the fuel tank up to the rear meth tank.
I hooked up the tank in the rear first, then I added the hooks up front that holds the tank down.
With the tank installed it was time for a beer
I have painted the blue parts of my seat black using a vinyl type paint.
I decided to strengthen the tunnel where the rear mounting for the seat attached to the tunnel. I cut out a pice of sheet metal aluminum about 2 millimeter thick and formed the pices to fit on the tunnel top.
My friend is testing the seat
Damn good result, great improvement over what it was before the threatment adding foam to the base of the seat.
Installed ignition.
Hooked up the carb sync tool. Before pic of how it was prior to adjusting carb sync.
After some adjustments I managed to get the carbs withing spec or better. Sorry no pic taken.
After finishing off the carb sync I found some fresh oil around the hose mounting on top of the oil tank. The 1/2" hose had a hole in it, maybe caused by a sharp object like a screwdriver, probably my own fault. I found some generic 1/2" oil/fuel line and cut a piece.
Boost controller, pipes and wires installed.
Wires and cables from the handlebars to the engine compartment zip-tied togheter and to the steering column.
Before installing the left side panel I drilled out 1" holes to increase air flow around the turbo and downpipe.
Installing tank covling.
It's done.
What remains is tuning, tuning and more tuning. But that's the funny part of owning a sled.
Exhaust parts for my friends 06 Attak Turbo.
He's installing a custom made muffler to fit in front of the tunnel.

Hahahaha I've ran the engine for the time it took me to sync the carbs, I have a few inches of driving on the garage floor LOL.
Will go out tomorrow for a shakedown ride in my backcountry to check all systems, when done tuning starts. I'm going to bring her up from WG setting of 12 lbs all the way to 22 lbs, going up a little at the time until I know all systems are working at 100%. Will look at my AFRs to monitor fuel as boost are increased. Clutching will have to be worked on as boost rises. I will also monitor my meth system, gotta be 100% sure it delivers the amount of meth it's supposed to.
