About 95-105 MPH or 150-170 kmt at 0.8 bar or 11.5 lbs boost pressure depending on conditions.
At 1 bar or 14.5 lbs boostpressure it gets there faster. He's running 20/40 gearing so he's running out of gear after 200 meters or so.
His 1.352" track is studded with 144 1.625" StudBoy Powerpoints.
GPS speed is not tested.
Yes it is reliable up to 1.0 bar on pump gas if set up correctly.
He's running it on 98 octane RON (europe) or 93 octane premium US.
Seems like a fun sled to ride.

Looks like you are having some good times with good friends...
I thought the next photo after the cornice photo, we would see you fying off the cornice... LOL...
I'm gald you didn't...Way to dangerous!!!
I absolutely love to see photo's of Finnmark!
Some of my Marine pilot buddies that have been to Norway, have been to your thread to see your photos. Brings back great flying memories as well.
Yeah it's really nice going out riding with friends
It's too dangerous, we have to little snow this season to cover the rocks underneat the cornice. No I have not ever jumped it, but I have climbed the hill to the left of the cornice.
Thank you Bob, I love posting them pics as well. And I'm glad that you and your aviator/pilot friends can watch them and think of the old days flying in Finnmark I will continue to shoot and post pics from wherever I go. As season end closes up on us more and more pics will be from the mountains.

Ride: 43 - 2008 Apex RTX
Date: March 31.
Distance: 97 kms or 60 miles
Start odo: 543 kms or 337 miles
End odo: 640 kms or 397 miles
Start odo Apex RTX: 0 kms or 0 miles
Mileage so far: 640 kms or 397 miles

Start odo Stock RX-1: 3694 kms or 2300 miles

Total mileage 2007-2008: 3823 kms or 2376 miles
I got kitchen furniture for our Cabin delivered today. My father came to help me transport the furniture to the cabin. My mother looked after our 4 year old while wifew was out of town. We got everything transported to our cabin on the lake Gagge way cool. Thank you mum and dad for helping us out today.
Start odo.
My dad drove the trailer up to the parking lot close to our cabin. I got to ride my Apex RTX up to the parking lot Much more fun riding than trailering. My sled outside our house.
Up at the parking lot, unloading the trailer.
Work is done, It too about 5 hours from the delivery to all parts were transported up to our cabin and brought inside.
Even though the trailer was empty I did not want to have my sled trailered back home. I wanted to ride it home About 5 kilometers or 3 miles from home I stopped at a farm road up in the Brennelv valley.
The farm road down the valley.
Here's a camp site where people can stop and make up fire and so on both summer and winter. It's the starting point for several trails for those who like to take a walk about in the wilderness surrounding the Brennelv valley.
Trailmarker and direction to Brennelvdalen (Brennelv valley)
The road ahead.
I did ride down the Brennelva river to where it reaches the arctic ocean in the bottom of the Porsanger fjord close to Lakselv (home). This pic is taken on the ocean shore.
Visibility was poor today, this pic is shot out the ice to the north, close to white-out conditions out on the sea ice.
Ice ridges on the Brennelva river a 500 meters or 1500 ft from the ocean. They are created by the tide going in and out twice every 24 hours. Tidal height is about 2-3 meters, low to high tide.
End odo.
It was a very wet day working and riding. Gloves, cap, jacket and bibs went soaking wet. Thanks to Gortex bibs and Tetratex jacket I did not get wet, except head and hands that went soaking wet. Luckily I left my helmet and goves in my car while we were transporting stuff from the parking lot to the cabin so I had dry helmet and gloves for the ride back home.
Thank you mum and dad for all your help

Ugh, I can't believe I said "do you got the speed". Forgive the terrible grammatical mistake!
Thanks for all the info! That's with the McX, right? Extra headgasket?
One last question - are you turboing the new sled? That is a fine looking machine...

Them hills are as high and steep as you dare climb, we have it all if you are crazy enough LOL. My friend sure is crazy cause he has climbed all there is to climb. I'll invite him out to show us the climb sites, he is the hill climb guru around here. He also does some jumping occationally. He rides a '03 RX-1 with MCX stage 2 and a 136" monoshock suspencion underneat it. We'll invite Sneip1 as well to show us the jump sites and cornices. Before he got injured he was the king of overjumping everything by far breaking suspensions, frames and motor mounts. Me myself I'm the high speed lakerunner and trailrider, that's where I get my adrenaline, I may climb some too when conditions are good, jumping I'll leave it to the pros. LOL
Yeah - we'll sure have some fun
Can't wait to join up with you guys for a great time in the snow, see ya.

No problem silver, gramatics can be tough to get right sometimes LOL.
It's a MCX kit. It has a head shim and 2 stock gaskets on each side of the shim. My friend Sneip1 allways modify his rides with bold graphics and customized solutions wheter it is his bikes, sleds, cars, you name it. When he is done, there's nothing much original left, he changes almost anything is one way or the other. And he also build a lot of his custom parts himself.

Thanks hondo they love riding with me and they also love beeing out in nature, sledding, fishing, campfires, watching wildlife, birds U name it. That makes their old man happy and proud.
I certainly agree on the riding thing
In my next few posts I have a review with some more miles to it. I actually tried to ride your average daily Guinness mileage, I rode a little past 200 miles or 320 kilometers yesterday
You were doing that 60 days in a row WOW you gotta have some stamina and determination hondo.

2/4 revolver settings does not work with the powerlevel I run in the Turbo, I got severe ratcheting problems.

Hondo has been a sorce of inspiration to me. I have been reading his reviews both last year and also this year with his Guinness record attempt, again hondo congrats on your achievement. I figured I would ride his 60 days average average mileage, which I came a few miles short, but nevertheless I did 200+ miles in one day. I'm now able to grasp what he has bee thru for 60 straight days, and again hondo, hats off to you. I ran the '08 Apex RTX as far as I could on a tankfull before returning home and jumped on my '03 RX-1 Turbo and rode a little more than half the distance I had finished off earlier the same day.
Start odo.
Weather was fantastic for a long distance ride crossing the mountain plains of Finnmark, Norway. Pics shot outside my house at 09:30 AM just before take off.
First stop was down at the ocean shore a few miles from home. The sea ice has got 1 ft or 30 cm of snow the last 3 days, it's as smoot and flat as can be. I won't ride out on the ice because we did not have really cold weather until March when the fjord finally froze over, so riding the sea ice is risky business this year. I would not recommend anyone to go riding on the sea ice this year. Please don't, it's dangerous.
A view to the north.
A view to the west and the Nieiddan moutainrange.
A view to the south west, the Nieidan mountain range and the Gaissa mountain range to the left in the distance.
A view to the south, the shoreline. You can see where the ice breaks up due to the change in the tide. When I was out on the ice it was almost full tide, the sea was clost to it's highest level during the day.
I found these track out on the sea ice. I believe it's form our wild cat called Gaupe in norwegian or Cougar in english. This cat has a short tail, large (paws?) feet, it's a few times larger than a domestic cat. They are avid hunters and are able to kill a young reindeer or sheeps. Sometimes they enter the villages and kills both cats and dogs, very rare tho.
After leaving the sea shore I entered the Brennelva river which enters the sea close by. We have got excellent conditions, a few sleds have rode up the river in front of me this morning.
Up in the Brennelv valley. Here's an example of what our forest trails looks like, very rough and bumpy because of no grooming.
The weather was sunny with clear blue skies and no wind at all. Temps were at at home -10C or 14F at my house this morning, as I got up in the Brennelv valley it got colder. These pics are shot up in the Rochi valley at lake Russevann.
A view towards the south east, mount Gagga.
A view towards the north east, mount Chakkalvarri.
The trail ahead.
The cold weather following the very wet snow we had created snow crystals on the branches of the trees. Very nice, hard to show it in a pic, the light from the morning sun made the crystals shine in many different colors.
Entering lake Gagga.
I rode past my cabin, looking up on it from the lake below before I headed towards the west. I rode thru the Pine forest on my way to the village of Skoganvarre or Skuvvanvarri in Sami language.
Up at the mountain plateu, mount Vuorji in the distance to the left.
Entering lake Leavvnjasjavri. Up to the lake there were trails from sledders riding up early this morning to cash the "big ones" fishing on the ice. I stopped for a while on the lake and shot some pics of the surroundings.
To the south, mount Vuorji, 1024 meters or 3359 ft.
To the north, mount Vaddasgaissa, 1026 meters or 3366 ft.
To the north west, mount Stallurassa, 870 meters or 2854 ft.
From the lake and further on I was breaking trail. It felt strange beeing all alone up on the plain knowing there were noone in front of me for who knows how far. Weather was nice so I decided to continue further on across the plain.
This pic is shot at lake Čiegŋalisjavri looking back to where I came from, mount Vuorji in the distance.
It was rather cold up in the mountains so I had to stop to warm myself up by running around in the snow until i felt the warmt return to my body. At this point I considered turning around because I was starting getting cold freezing on my upper body and fingers. Anyway, the running in the deep snow was some work so I got warm in a few minutes. I decided to continue my ride towards the west. At the highest point of the plains I stopped to shoot these pics to show you the vast wilderness and the endless plains of Finnmark.
A view to the north east towards mount Čokkarassa, 1139 meters or 3736 ft.
To the north, endless plains.
To the north west, white as far as the eye can see.
To the west, the trail towards Stabbursdalen valley.
To the south west, the trail passes to the left of the mountain range in the distance.
I continued on my journey towards the west. Down in the valley of Stabbursdalen, in the middle of lake Øvre Stabbursdalsvann.
The back course.
The trail ahead.
After a short stop on lake Øvre Stabbursdalsvann I checked my fuel level and decided to continue towards lake Joatkkajavri and the cabins of Joatkka Fjellstue (a lodging facility). After crossing the valley I was yet again up on the plains riding along the mountain range of Stuoranjoaski. I stopped and shot a few pics of the surroundings.
The trail ahead towards the south west heading to Joatkkajavri Fjellstue.
To the east. The mountains Vuorji and Vaddasgaissa in the far distance.
The back course to wards the north-north east.
Arrival at Joatkka Fjellstue. It was rather cold outside so I figured I would go inside to have something to eat and drink. Unluckily the whole resturant was occupied by a group of sledders out on a guided tour across the plains. I had to eat my sandwiches outside in the cold brrrrrrr.
Finishing eating I talked to a few of the guys out on tour (there where both women and men out on that tour) as they came over to take a look at my Apex RTX. They asked me where I came from. I told them I had ridden from where I live on the other side of the plain in the town of Lakselv in the county of Porsanger. Joatkka is in the next county some 100 kilometers or 62 miles away from Lakselv. They also wanted to know about my sled. I told them it was a 1000 cc, 4-stroke, 4 cylinder Yamaha Apex RTX. They liked to know how fast it was and how much power it had. I told them it can go 2.5X the speed limit and that it has 150 HP. They said; bet your sled is pretty fast compared to what we ride. Here's a pic of my sled in front of the fleet of Polaris touring sleds. Notice the cold fog in the background, I encountered this fog a few miles before arriving at Joatkka. When I left I opened the WOT for a short distance to give the guys an idea of the power of the Apex RTX.
On my way back I shot this pic at the trail between lake Øvre Stabbursdalsvann and the highest point on the plain. The trail is straight ahead for a few miles, it was too cold so I didn't go wot although the conditions were perfect for high speed riding. I kept me pace around the speed limit.
I stopped close to mount Vuollanjunnisgaissa. I shot this pic down the valley of Girrabokki. The mountains Guovžilgaissa to the left and Vuollanjunnisgaissa to the right.
My sled in front of mount Vuollanjunnisgaissa.
The decent down from the plains, entering the valley (the town of Lakselv lyes down the valley close to the sea) overlooking lake Vuollajavri and lake Øvrevann, mount Gagga in the far distance.
If you take a closer look at the last pic you can see a sled further down the trail. This sled was abandoned in the middle of the trail. It had broke down, right hand side rear axel idler wheel had failed and the track had derailed.

I rode past the village of Skoganvarre at lake Øvrevann towards my cabin on the lake Gagga where I had lunch and soft drinks outside in the sunshine
After lunch I looked inside the cabin and turned the heat down a bit, closed the door and took off back home. After riding across lake Gagga entering the next lake of Ceagguljavri I saw something that made me look twice because I could not believe what I saw, the trail was actually groomed.... this has never happened before. My local Snowmobile club did buy a groomer that can be towed behind a widetrack sled, but they have never done any grooming of the trails with it. This year they have apparently decided to put it into use THANK YOU GUYS for grooming our badly beaten up trail system. Our forest trails are so badly beaten up that no skid or sled can make for a comfortable ride thru the woods.
I decided to ride the farm road down the Brennelv valley. I stopped by a camp site along the road. This time around the weather was really nice compared to the last time I rode by.
The back course.
The road ahead.
Finally at home at 13.30 PM.
End trip.
End odo.
My ride today was one to remember The trails in the mountains were about as good as get. The forest trails down in the valleys were badly beaten up, but at the end of the ride I entered newly groomed trails. I really hope that grooming is going to be done on a permanent basis or at least more often. Riding on the newly groomed trail was a blast, now I know what I envy you fellow US and Canadian riders, your perfectly groomed trails. I hope we can have that too
Happy trails everybody - those who still have snow that is.
I had the time of my life riding across the plains today.

After running my '08 Apex RTX until it was nearly out of gas I changed sled and finished off the day by riding another 117 kms or 72 miles, for a total of 321 kms or 200 miles.
Start odo.
The '03 RX-1 Turbo outside my house warming up.
Ready to go
First pics was shot in the nearby mountains of Lemmivarre.
A view to the north. You can see the bottom of the Porsanger fjord in the distance.
A view to the south east. The mountains Chakkalvarri, Halkkavarri and Mellomfjellet in the distance. The valley in between the mountains are in use by the army and the air force for target practice and bomb drops and so on.
I rode the trail thru the bomb fields and up the pass in between the mountains. On the other side of the pass I had a view overlooking the Luostejohka valley in the south east.
To the north.
A view to the west and the sunset.
From the eastern plains I turned my sled towards the west and rode down the Sarves valley, rode across lake Gagga and my cabin and down to the village of Skoganvarre on the shores of lake Øvrevann.
A pic of the sunset shot at lake Øvrevann.
At lake Øvrevann I turned around and headed back to lake Gagga where I took to the north on the lake. I crossed the lake and climbed up the hill and entered lake Ceagguljavri. From the norhtern shores of lake Gagga the groomer had been working on the trails all day and noone had been riding them since.... I was riding newly fresh groomed trails all by myself, not a track to be seen
Mount Gagga in the sunset.
Mount Gagga has a beautiful icefall hanging down from the cliffs.
The groomed trail lasted for many miles, this pic is shot at lake Greinervann down in the Rochi valley.
Form the Rochi valley I entered the army road and headed towards Porsangmoen army camp. At Porsangmoen I entered lake Nedrevann or Vuolit Leavnnjajavri in Sami language. This pic is shot at the northern shores of the lake, a view to the south. The back course.
I continued down the Lakselv valley alongside the Lakselva river. Further down the valley I had to cross the Vuoddejohka river which empties into the Lakselva river. Crossing an ice-bridge over the Vuoddejohka river.
A few miles later the trail runs close to the Lakselva river. The slopes above the river is kinda steep and I had to ride sidehill above the river. As you can see from the pic the river is deep close to the shore with holes in the ice. I sure didn't wanna fall down there, dangerous.
Here's what is looked like riding sidehill above the open water below.
Shortly after I decided to take the trail up into the Neiddan mountain range. At the village of Klemetstad I took to the west and started the climb up the mountain.
Up on the mountain I shot these pics.
A view to the north, the town of Lakselv in the distance close to the fjord bottom.
A view to the south east. The Lakselv valley. Mount Gagga in the far distance.
Up in the Nieiddan mountainrange. Mount Divvgagaisse in the distance.
I rode towards the north into another trail which also goes down from the mountain. It's a very steep trail. First I had to enter this canyon.
At the end of the canyon the trail takes to the right just before the canyon exits into a steep cliff with a 200 meters or 600 ft free fall. The decent begins, when riding this trail you gotta have your side hill riding skills in order.
End trip.
End odo.
Today I managed to come close to hondos averange Guinness record pace. I rode 321 kilometers or 200+ miles, only a few miles short of hondos average dayly mileage. I have got a grasp on what he have been thru....but 60 days in a row... RESPECT to hondo for what he has accomplished.

Thank you hondo
I'm beginning to reach your average Guinness record distances as I rode past 320 kilometers or 200 miles yesterday. My last post is the Apex RTX ride review (the morning ride), the RX-1 Turbo review from yesterday is still under construction (the evening ride). The combined mileage from both rides were 200+ miles. The RX-1 Turbo ride review will be finished off this evening
We have got a few feet of snow in the last few weeks, and it started to snow again today Snow dept are at average and riding conditions are quite good at the moment, except for some forest trails that are pretty beaten up.
