Seat Time-Belt feedback after alignment with Hurricane Tool

Hi All,

Just curious if anyone has logged any miles after aligning clutches with the Hurricane Alignment Tool? Would be great to get some feedback. I purchased it and set to specs but wont have a chance to ride until New Years.

Maybe they’re working so good...no need to say anything lol...you know the thing where the ones that are running good, you never hear about; only the ones blowing belts you hear about???

I did ~~200/250km. NO long WOT testing.......

Offset 58,5 whit 1 shim behind. Realy close of the gauge .5 or 1mm. Reducing the float seems to work really well on backshift and hard braking. My "float" is set at ~~~2mm now! Whit Gforce cam it was 7-8mm float...

Well boys, I just put 100 miles on TD 300hp tune.......wow, wow, wow .....unbelievable, but that is the topic of another post!!!!

Back on topic, I've got a belt blower and rarely get 300 miles on a belt. This was my maiden voyage after using the Hurricane alignment tool. Had to remove 2mm from secondary hub to make it right and I must say belt temps are exponentially lower. I'm pretty stoked on the results and at this point I think belt issues are behind me. Still got some testing to do, but preliminary results are looking pretty good at this point.

To be fair, I also designed an air intake to assist with cooling and mounted at the same time I aligned clutches with Hurricane tool. Temps tonight were about 8 degrees so I know this helped too. At any rate, I did many, many pulls and clutches nice and cool....I'm really stoked!! If this doesnt cure my belt woes, it is definitely a step in the right direction.

I dont advertise for anyone....im just a nobody that likes to go fast. I couldn't spot Dave or Ben in a crowd of two, but I'll call an ace an ace....that tool was well worth the money imo!!!

I obtained the tool last season and set two different sleds up with it.
Belt temps were good and neither had any belt issues, several hundred miles on each sled.
Both sleds required clutch hub material removal.

Makes you wonder how Yamaha released their flagship sled in 2017 and again in 2018 with the clutch alignment so far off on so many. Wouldn't you think that this would be a very important spec when dealing with an engine that is so powerful? To think I didn't want anything to do with the Thundercat because I wanted the superior clutches I remember from my Apex days. Shame on Yamaha and shame on me for trusting them.

That air intake is interesting! Do you have a pic of where you're pulling air from in the front? Is it just the normal vent intake somehow shared with the CAI?

Yes, it utilizes the left air intake. I mounted CAI as high as I could and butted this intake chute against the bottom to hold it up. Rather than have air enter cab and dissipate throughout, it now gets funneled directly to clutches.
