I notice when riding gauge will read certain amount, then come to stop and let it sit for a minute and always reads more than when in motion. Want better mileage? It’s called linq 2 gallon gas can!

Going’s through this whole thread and some are saying the PM tunes will be better on fuel than the SM tunes.. I wonder if that’s my issue, maybe the SS doesn’t run efficiently with a SM.Last season myself and 3 buddies all had the same set ups hurricane performance muffler tune bundle 3 bar ...
2 with 24/50 gears (cat and yamaha)
1 22/41 gears yamaha
1 21/38 gears cat
On our trip all 4 of us got over 220km(136 +miles) out of our tanks on part of our trip but we did take it easy.

Shouldn’t have to buy a linq system after a tune especially when most claim better fuel mileage over stock.I notice when riding gauge will read certain amount, then come to stop and let it sit for a minute and always reads more than when in motion. )I've had a couple sidewinders now and they are 120-135mile max on fuel. If alot or WOP it's less . Cant say much on if its tuned but I know my max 16 is definitely harder on fuel than when it was stock. Maybe I'm harder on the throttle but definitely worse on fuel. And top end speed isn't what I thought it would be. Very similar to my eco trail I had. I am not impressed by any means. How does the 240 hurricane tunes perform & fuel mileage???
Not my experience at all. I could not tell the diff between stock and Ecotrail, so I bumped it up to Max Spool 16 and that is a BIG difference. Both stock tune and Ecotrail tunes use to make me say that my sled was deceptively fast, because of how the power came on smooth but steady! Then came Max Spool 16 and hold on, the power is no longer deceptive, it’s a bit wild and “I Love It”!
Saddle bag trip a few years ago of which I ran it out of gas, had 147.5 miles when It ran out, just as I got to the trailer.
I tend to run it a bit softer when on a trip like that, instead of to the bar, to the bar, we try and keep the sleds together with many 120’s but with smoother throttle operation to try and salvage our trip! Know what I mean?

Really......we all can’t bitch about mileage when having between 200hp -300hp sleds on the trail! Who’d have thunk just 5 to 10 yrs ago!

I can count on 200km per tank. Depending on trail conditions and the throttle. What do some of you think they should get? If you want great gas mileage, try boating! Lol.

Ahhhhhhh......I'm going to ruffle some feathers here....I really can't believe this thread is 10 pages long, this is pretty simple ....there is so many variables involved in this question of fuel economy , as I shared with a fellow forum member here , you will not get the same range as stock or better when tuned or hardware modified like clutching, track specs, snow conditions ,riding behaviours....the list of variables goes on....I call it BS if claims aren't substantiated by data of mileage increase or same as stock... GPS your sled.....the dream meter is off on speed and distance.....don't waste time figuring out how to squeeze an additional 10 miles or kms.....loose 20 lbs off your weight and mileage will improve....Geez Louise .....ride and enjoy .....IMHO

Finally the truth comes out lol.. I know lots of guys compare fuel mileage to other sleds but that’s not really a good way IMO. Most of my big runs in northern Ontario are with Polaris 850’s and there tanks are big, 44 litres and there range is way more than mine because of that, so if I’m burning the same amount as them it still doesn’t mean anything as I’m running out before them..Ahhhhhhh......I'm going to ruffle some feathers here....I really can't believe this thread is 10 pages long, this is pretty simple ....there is so many variables involved in this question of fuel economy , as I shared with a fellow forum member here , you will not get the same range as stock or better when tuned or hardware modified like clutching, track specs, snow conditions ,riding behaviours....the list of variables goes on....I call it BS if claims aren't substantiated by data of mileage increase or same as stock... I’m not concerned about burning an extra $10-$20 of fuel a day it’s the northern trips where there are certain trails where gas is 180-190km between stops.

Lol. We ride at some times 6-8 998s on saddle bag trips. We drive aggressively where the trails allow it. A stock sidewinder riding like this does NOT get the mileage of a well clutched , geared, tuned sled period. We all fill up same time, burp tanks etc and the stock sleds always take a bit more fuel. I don't need a GPS or record mileage . We will be testing closed loop and see if the claims are true when we get a chance same tunes, same clutching, same gearing will see what happens.

Why is your light on? fuel showing Half??I just did a 100 mile ride that was relatively slow bush trails punctuated by lake running. The 850 Renegade, 1200 Renegade , and Nytro that I rode with all had their low fuel lights on well before the end of the ride.
My SW's mileage was crazy good on this ride as the picture shows. The guys I ride with were blown away...LOL...maybe my fuel gage is packing in.

I stop at every gas station, and get harassed for it. But only after I stop, do some bird watching, maybe warm a sandwich on the vent under the handlebars, do some stretches, and they finally catch up.

If you have a closer look the engine is not running...that's not a low fuel light.
