Upei93 when was the last flash done. Could it be that you already have the corrected flash. It apparently was released on Dec 21. Maybe that's why the VIN is showing not required.
My dealer in Cornwall Ont has confirmed there is an updated flash since mine was done in November.

It was around that time...problem is my speedo is way high...I now have a 2015 XTX LE with 7 tooth drivers that hits 116 mph.
Was it not high BEFORE? 7 tooth drivers is the reason. You would need a MTX flash or ECU to correct that.It was around that time...problem is my speedo is way high...I now have a 2015 XTX LE with 7 tooth drivers that hits 116 mph.

Didn't GPS it before flash but best I saw speedo last year was 97...added mpi race can and Ulmer clutching and now see 116 speedo...if Allens clutching is that good he's not charging enough lol
Sled is a 15 xtx le which came stock with 7 tooth drivers and the 2.25 track...first owner swapped that track for 1.75 back country...so I would think speedo was good before flash.
Oh my Mistake I did not know a XTX ever came with 7 tooth drivers Stock. Yes you are correct they must not have flash for your sled with correct speedo or maybe they do now. Its a big mess obviously.Didn't GPS it before flash but best I saw speedo last year was 97...added mpi race can and Ulmer clutching and now see 116 speedo...if Allens clutching is that good he's not charging enough lol

My dealer flashed mine before 21 December and when he contacted Yamaha about the Speedo issue on our sleds about 23 March they said OH S#!+ as they had just released the official 2016 flash notice on 21 December so the Dealers are reflash everything they flashed before 21 December. My flash was just done, date in the computer said 12-21-2016. My speedo is dead nuts with my GPS

That MPI turbo would help quite a bit to get you to 118.Dang I need that mod!
Turbos are just more to go wrong. Yamaha is fully capable of giving me that speed NA. Maybe someday but it wont be on my trail sled Testmaster. That MPI turbo would help quite a bit to get you to 118.

They can give you 200+ HP NA with 1,000 cc or less and probably give you a 5 year warranty to boot! Just not sure of the cost, but I'm sure it would be light and turn lots of RPM! Probably need a 2:1 reduction for clutch life!Turbos are just more to go wrong. Yamaha is fully capable of giving me that speed NA. Maybe someday but it wont be on my trail sled Testmaster.
If I go Turbo it will be on the Phazer. Go Sidewinder hunting! Someday when kids are done with it it will happen but not going to play around. Everything including internals will be done and Cat front end. Still needs to go through bumps!

Just got my wife's 16 flashed sat. It behaves just like my 17 now. 2 times to start for the most part. Idles nice. Weird it even sounds the same now. I'm sure it's a slight rpm change at idle. It's the updated Dec flash so no change in speedo.

First ride on the new flash it took usually 2-3 attempts to start. Today in temps in the mid 30's it started on the first attempt all day. Really weird.
