Does anybody Mountain bike to stay in shape? This site if full of helpful setup tips, but one of the best mods I have found is keeping yourself fit. Doing something you love is the secret to staying in shape. I love to ride.

Oh yeah and I like well setup toys too.

I raced mountain bikes for 15 years and won a state championship in '99. But that was about 30 pounds ago. Now I ride primarily on the road. However, I can still develop enough torque to put kids half my age in the hurt box, which is very satisfying.

Judging by the frame size, are you about 9-feet tall?

I like my motocross bike a lot better than my mountain bike, and it keeps me in alot better ridding shape too.

ride/race about 10,000 km every summer on my road (bicycles)......I'm in the middle of cyclo cross season now.

current stable .... Pinarello, Trek Madone, Cannondale and my Kona JTS.

the other half is a 4 season widow to my hobbies.

Nice ride Lee

I'm too lazy for bicycle riding so me and the little man ride ATV's all summer, that certainly keeps the bump absorbing back muscles in shape. ;)!

I use my Mtn bike for cardio as well, and the stationary bike during the winter months, but my primary method to stay in shape is bodybuilding. I was a competitive bodybuilder for many years, won the provincal title in 2001 and made it in MuscleMag International, which was pretty darn cool ! They tagged me as "MiniHulk" :-o I still train hard, just not for competition anymore. I gotta say, staying in shape year round sure makes it easier for me when it comes time to start riding, but no matter how good my conditioning is, deep pow riding and constant drift bashing kicks the sh*t outta me ! :exc:

Anyway, Here's my summer ride....2004 Norco VPS Shore

I just run 5 miles usually 4-5 times per week and play tennis and badminton 2-3 times per week. I really should be working on upper body conditioning more.

Nice Bike.... I love the VPS line!

Ride/race quads mostly Harescrambles and trailriding.I find if I run 3 Harescrambles in a row one every weekend and trailride in between it keeps me in shape. The Harescrambles are relatively safe since speeds are way down and not much jumping.Always wanted a Cannondale bike though.

I have a Trek I ride. Been riding more lately to get in better shape for the snow season plus we have a Yellowstone trip planned this year at the end of Feb.

Oh. This is my other exercise toy on the rough chop of Lake St. Clair will really get your arms pumping. Plus 70 mph is a hoot on the lake.
