SteveO Gone

I will state the only reason I did not pass the last sled is I could not take my eyes off the view it was pretty darn nice!

I do most of my riding in the UP.(Wakefield) & also northern Wis. The longest ride I have taken is from Wakefield to the Soo. I ride alone most of the times because the other people just keep going to the same places which are not to far away. I leave my machines in Michigan all winter long & my trailer is not available durning the winter months. I have always wanted to do some of the rides with Tom but could not hook up with anybody coming thur Wakefield on M28. Once in a while I will ride with Nick Keller, so I am used to a long day with a good amount of miles.
I will be staying In Norway at the Norway Inn this weekend and of course at the Muni End of Year Ride the following weekend. Hoping to go from Pembine if possible. Both will surely be 2-300mi days for sure. Lets ride!

Love my Apex’s and I still drive them but Rocker Dan’s Sidewinder RTX is light years ahead of any sled I have ever driven. That sled can do things that no other sled can do.It is absolutely addictive and I’ve never had more fun snowmobiling

Were you at the Sporting Club in Northern Maine back in January(17th)? I recognized Dans sled when I rode in and saw it(unless it’s one that looks just like it)? I wanted to go and ask everybody in there if it was theirs? I have an 18 50th too. We’re both from CT and that’s funny that I saw it, and was wondering who bought it, and you’re from CT too.

Wakefield you say? Do you know where Chaney lake is? About 10 miles straight south of Wakefield. I ride quite frequently in this area. 2400 miles this year. Orange and black/ grey 17 winder with white skis. Maybe we have passed one another? Betting we have.

I just love the comments about going to an 850 doo for reliability, don’t ever ride one of them out of warranty if you think maintaining a winder is problematic. Story around here deep in doo country is $5500 for an engine if it’s trashed, and lots are. The faithful just say it’s all part of the ride, don’t forget unlike yamacat flaws there is no fix, you just play the lottery until she blows on a trip.

I go up Chaney lake road (0) from W when going to Wakefield. Have had a house up there for the past 32 years. I am up there quite often. If you go down Trail 2 east of Sunday lake you past right past my house. If you want to ride sometime send me a private message.

No sh$&. I have not been on Chaney lake as long as you have been in the area. This is my 5th winter on Chaney lake. I’m on Lakeshore drive on the east side of lake. 11s is the best I have ever seen it this season. Not that it’s been open all 5 years. But that’s where I get on OR we run old Nanny road out to 519 aka Chaney lake road to Mosinee grade. Then over to trail 17. LOVE THIS AREA. PM sent.

In the 70's Mosinee grade was 1 of many trails that I used to ride. 519 is really 0.

Let's get this post back on track.
I don't mean to sound narcissistic, but my name is on the title. LOL

I was away for a tad, but when i came back, WOW!
THANKS to all for the supportive comments. This place ROCKS! That's why i'm NOT actually leaving.
Who's gonna correct SNOWBEASTS' grammar or bring out the happy KNAPP (still working on that one) or calm CLUTCHMASTER down when challenged before he gets thrown off TY...................AGAIN.
Somebody needs to keep the 80's alive for BEERMAN & remind VXR1 that he's over 100 even though he doesn't look a day over 80.
This site has a lot of BIG BALLS & they need to be broken...........................by ME! With witty humor of course so there's no hard feelings.

I would like to clear up some issues first:

---I did NOT bash my Winder or even Yamaha, but just like ROCKERDAN, i will not come back to YamaCat until some issues are at LEAST addressed.
---I know EVERY sled will have issues, but at least my bearings are locked in.
---Some question the 2-stroke over a 900 T. It's not ready. Some tuning & geometry & it will be there.
---Some question the 600. I like being the underdog. My buds learned this weekend..................................SteveO got skills

I still have a stable of Apex's i work on, plus Tom the Blade aka: MrSled, gave me a free $.02 TY sticker so i think he likes me and will let me stick around.

ONE MORE THING:
I broke in the new sled for 700 miles in a 2.25 days.
I'm pretty sure i'm going to blow this thing up cuz YES, i keep it PINNED!

Just wait till you guys get hit with the snow. 6inches of fresh on trail and you will be missing the power when you are lucky if that 600 can manage 75 true mph. Report back then buddy!

Boy oh boy....this thread is about a beloved member moving on for now. Never heard him say "sour grapes" just "frozen grapes". I too will miss his post on TY. Steve our group will be coming your way next year to ride with you and I could care less what your skinny hinny is sitting on. It could be snoscoot 200 for all I care, we would wait for you at trail crossings though....hehe!

I was thinking about you all weekend & where i want to take you next year.
I started to get nervous about being a poor host. I want you Buckeye fellas to have fun so i'll pick some bigger trails cuz on the small to medium trails you boys will struggle to keep up with this skinny AZZ on a skinny AZZ sled & might get embarrassed. LOL

Talkin' smack already!
I'm such an AZZ!

Yep been there done that, two motor rebuilds later in one season told me I needed more.
You have a warranty and I did not with the used one I bought, so your all set. Ride on and enjoy your skills!

Hey SteveO...I feel honored to be mentioned by name in one of your postings.

Sorry to hear that you've left the blue camp in favor the the yellow, but a man's got to Doo what a man's got to Doo.

Best of luck brother next season on your new ride.

I'm old and am all smiles underneath my helmet riding my trusty old 'Winder.
