SteveO Gone

Please remember that this is a ONE year sled for me then it will turn into a back-up.
I definitely settled for less for reasons that fit MY life right now.
I enjoy snowmobiling & have no problem with people that can "blow" me away.
I will be looking at ALL the 2022's.

Poo has a new chassis coming supposed to blow us away
Yamaha will own the Cat chassis outright
Doo may have a MACH Z coming.
Cat.....................well, i just don't like the color green

Hummmm now we know SteveO!!
Looking at your Brain cell under a microscope has revealed you’ve been an interloper for many years!
As Cheech & Chong would say.....
“ Sergeant Stadinko says...Yer Busted!”

Here's a story fer 'ya fellas to fuel some fire.
When at the dealer, the lead mechanic came up to me & said i made a good choice with the 600 cuz he's never had a bad 600 motor.
Then he said "now the 850 is a different story".
I said "contrary to the Yellow Brigade they do POP don't they" and he nodded yes.
He said they are good motors, but they've had 7 or 8 POP.

Here's even MORE to ponder!!!!
Talking to 2 friends about our Yamaha engines.
We calculated over 300,000 miles on our TOTAL Yamaha snowmobile miles:
---1 thrown rod on a new 07 Attack. ( one of 2 bad motors in North America that whole YEAR!)
---3 stators
---1 crank sensor
---2 starters

Then my bud pointed out NO, i repeat NO issues with our bike or boat motors........EVER!

Here's even more fuel!
Spoke to multiple dealers on trail this past week.
One sells ALL 4 brands & was very honest about each.
I told him my predicament & he chimed in.
He thought the DOO motors were reliable to 10,000. After that he said Yer' Pushin' it kid.
He said the POO is a GREAT handling sled with a new chassis coming, but the motors failed miserably last year & this year isn't over with although they've done well so far.
Then he said the Cat is just a Cat. His shop does more work on Warranty work on Cat chassis then all others combined.
Great chassis, stupid small engineering.
This dealer had NOTHING to gain or loose on any brand. He was on a Viper BTW so he loves the Yamaha motors.

Let's just be honest here.
A 2-stroke will NEVER outlast a 4-stroke by pure Physics alone.
But me putting on 20,000 miles & still having a DEPENDABLE sled is also being UN-HONEST with myself.
I need to trade up every other year no matter what i'm riding.

OK, now let's hear some more opinions cuz i got AMMO kids.

And YES, i miss my Winder, but i'm riding and that's all that counts!
Gaspe in 2 weeks. That's a 2000 mile or so trip on HUGE trails on a 600.
You boys should invest in Duck Tape Stock cuz i'm gonna wrap it around the throttle & just hit the stop switch now & then...

Yup that will work if you do it every year. I think even every year is pushing luck unless a total tear down mid season. You will also lose enough $ to buy a whole sled in 3 or4 years of doing that just from depreciation.

Hey Don, if i was to buy a Cat, maybe you could design a wrap for me!

I've got the perfect design in mind for you....plenty of pink and pastel colors with an aggressive look using rainbows and unicorns. ;)!

Doo and Poo 600 engines are very good. Poo and Doo 800’s and 850’s aren’t nearly as reliable. Our lake is a 31 mile super highway in the winter. All the sleds around that are blown are 800’s and 850’s. Another funny thing I find is they all think they can run with a tuned Winder.

I think they are all pretty good with none bullet proof anymore (too much emphasis on lightweight vs balance IMO). Its fun to try different ones to see which ones you like. Riding a 20 850 was enlightening for me this past weekend. I'm not leaving a boosted Yamaha for it but I genuinely appreciated the ride. I also rode a Poo 800 an 18 assault. Again rode great. They all ride nice anymore. Fun to get 10 year old mod sled technology and ride straight out of the box now... from all 4 manufactures. I'm still semi-biased to Yammie but willing to look at anything now.

SteveO keep the reviews coming from your experiences you have! Thanks!

Didn't doo give you your free roll of duck tape when you bought that fowl? (that still quacks me up!lol)
