Water pump and oil cooler were all new. There is also no lemon laws on snowmobiles in Iowa.
Just sucks. Tired of this sled. It’s exhausting.

What a disaster. You've been through h#@@.
There's only a couple of ways for coolant to get in oil.
1. Oil cooler although since oil pressure is about 70 psi, and coolant pressure is about 15 psi, a breech in oil cooler usually results in oil in coolant, not coolant in oil.
2. Head area. Head not sealed adequately so coolant at 15 psi weeps out and drains back to sump with oil. Head cracked into coolant jacket. Same result.
3. Bad water pump would not put oil into coolant. If inner seal goes bad, oil will come out weep hole on bottom of pump. Will not go into sump. If outer seal goes bad, then coolant will leak out weep hole, not into sump. Water pump is not culprit.
Somehow, somewhere, whoever is assembling this engine, is missing something.
Need to pressure test engine prior to disassembly to find out where breech is!!
If someone starts Go-Fund-Me, I'd contribute.

Time to move on to another dealer or to another sled.. Nothing more frustrating then what your dealing with.. It would have been gone by now if it were me.. Easier said then done.. This is suppose to be fun!

Trade it in at a skidoo only dealer as is and don't take anything but top dollar for it.

No one will take in on trade. I asked 3 dealers this summer. I can’t sell private party with out talking a bath on it. I don’t want to lose $8k when yamaha keeps fixing for free. Just maddening that it won’t work.

Why is that? Figured $15K plus and lack of availability they would sell quick for a dealer to have some used ones. Anyway taking off all mods, selling them to recoup some money and this one is going down the road with a stock new longblock in it. I have had enough and I haven't even had chaincase issues or the other known crap yet which I figured if I got it running that would be next. Too many ruined trips for me....

I’ll tried to trade/ upgrade my’17 Ltx Se with 3 different Yamaha dealers last year, and they didn’t want it. You can Forget about trying a DO or PO dealers. That’s another thing to remember on top of all issues with this machines when you get one.

Local dealer near me just took a '17 LTX DX on trade for a UTV. Market must not be the same in all areas.
Kinger, I feel for ya. You've been through the ringer on this thing. Hope your next sled is trouble free and miles of smiles.

Now I’m really confused! I got it in the shop it and engine is cold and it sucked two of these tanks dry the last time out on the trail I filled it way up to the top (where my finger is) way above the cold line just so I could make it home without overheating.
So I’m assuming the oil tank to be full of coolant because there was no green drops anywhere on the snow. It looks like the oil is in the exact same spot as when I left maybe a little milky but the last time this whole tube was full!
I open the radiator cap and a puff of air came out, and the coolant is at the bottom of plastic holding where it supposed to be, just the overflow tank is almost dry. This would tell me it was still just air in the system!! Right?
If so that would make 3/4 gallon I have added since getting it back.
I guess I keep driving it and carry coolant?

When these machines are new it seems to take many miles to get all the air out of them and you always end up adding coolant till it stops needing it. Don't however put in more than the Cold line because it will puke it out the overflow when warm.

So are you thinking there may not be an issue other than an air lock? I know when mine was new back in the fall of 16 I had to add coolant for the first few rides as the overflow was sucked right dry.
