Hurricane for me works incredible. I did not have such luck with the other tune. Corner to corner is where the Hurricane tunes are incredibly powerful, and is backed up by dyno sheet.
I would love to try your sled to see the difference you speak of. I have no issues floating the front end at will.

The TD max spool 17 tunes are crazy on the trail. You want to have GOOD traction .

All this serious HP talk, and 'walkin the front end' makes me want to load the Winder and head North for one last hurrah!

Dan, is the Hurricane 240 tune you have a quick spool tune as well.I ran TD ecotrail sm tune this season, noticable increase in power but hard on fuel, thinking a less resrictive exhaust will help,TD stock muffler mod or Hurricane stock muffler replica. Want to keep sled quiet as possible

How bout going up to the TD Powertrail Tune...with TD super-quiet muffler? More flow for faster spool...more power than the Eco Trail, better fuel mileage, and only slightly louder at idle than stock.
I’m thinking of going this route myself later this summer if I decide to Tune mine.

I bought the flasher data logger and multi tune bundle. I preferred the idea of not having to send my ECU In. I doubt I will change the tune often but I wanted to be able to go back to stock or lower tune if a less experienced rider was getting on my Winder. I also waited until the 2nd season to make it seem like I got a new sled. Although I haven’t gotten that much use out of it but the data logger seems key to helping with dialing in the sled. I don’t feel compelled to get the handlebar switch. Yet. Being able to tune the sled this way, I feel, is one of the best reasons to have a Winder. Thanks to all the guys that begged Yami for years for them to build this factory boost marvel. I had no idea I needed such a beast.

You'll want the Flasher and bundle of tunes so you're not locked in. It's tough to keep a belt on these things if you ride aggressive on the big tunes. I may even go down to the 225 stock muffler tune next winter after running on 270 & 290. I want to give the PB80 a whirl at some point and doubt very much it will stay cool on anything over 240.
I'm hoping to figure out how to keep rollers in the stock drive clutch too for any length of time and belts on the sled with the big tunes next season also. Or maybe, just maybe the PB80 will be the setup to have after seeing the issues with the stock drive clutch, we'll see next season now if there's a fix for the roller and belt problems besides turning down the power if you ride aggressive.
Get a flasher if you want to play or you are locked in without updates and tune changes. They'll come a time when you want to do something different. I only flashed a couple sleds this season with single tunes, its much more rare for single tunes. Plus the flasher gives much more for options like the Jukebox, logging and code reading and clearing. IMO the flasher is a no brainer and should be a must have.

There's ZERO chance I would slow down my Winder for a bit more belt life. I logged on 2100 hard miles and blew 2 belts. Of course, I don't want to blow any, however, the belts are cheap and it is worth every nickel to be able to toy with all my riding friends riding 850's and 800's at will. Anytime they open their pie-hole about my Winder being a belt eater, I only have to remind them that 1) they continuously have to dump in very expensive oil, 2) my sled is leaps and bounds faster than theirs and 3) their belts blow too, just not as often.

Actually, that’s about 1150 miles per belt...I change my belts about every 1500 miles anyway for peace of mind and performance purposes anyway, so that’s not bad at all.
I do wish YAMAHA would come out with a purpose built belt for the Sidewinder, like Cat did for their turbo/clutches.
This is lunacy that they(Yamaha) haven’t updated a belt for this awesome sled after 2 seasons on the snow. I’m Not impressed with this part of their development...pretty lousy to be honest. Make a belt that’s meant to stand up to the power these sleds have...not make us use a belt that’s meant for the Apex, that’s 55hp less!!
Anybody hear if they are going to make a belt for our winders for next season??? That would solve a lot of the belt issues period.

Sorry, I lied, I didn't blow the third, but I did toss it in the garbage after my North trip. It had 740 miles.Actually, that’s about 1150 miles per belt...I change my belts about every 1500 miles anyway for peace of mind and performance purposes anyway, so that’s not bad at all.

Again, apologies.
Wait, what? You chucked a belt after 740 miles? I was bummed when my last belt blew at about 800 miles on the 270R tune. I started to doubt my setup. I'm still running stock gears and i'm about 170 lbs in riding gear , so I think that has allot to do with it. I don't get too many days to ride, so if i can get around 1k miles per belt I'll be happy, as that is my entire year basically.
I highly recommend the Hurricane tunes. Get the flasher with the entire bundle. The biggest advantage I feel is the use of the data logger. You can adjust your clutching without the guesswork.
