Thunder Products (Big Venom Viper kit) with Heavy Hitters

Just talked with Lonn on the phone. His kits and weights will still be the same setup as HPR and cc's have not changed. I am the 1st one to contact Lonn about the Big Venom kit with the 2016's and because of his ties with Yamaha direct and R&D, there is no change to how the kit will be setup.

2016 owners will not have to start from scratch again.

Now, if someone has any ?'s on install, how to adjust if they want to play with the different setups....anyone here can pm me or Shagman for info and help, or even post a question here. :)

Sounds like its new to EVERYBODY. Me, you, dealers. Somebody get this thing on a dyno, quick. Thanks NOS-PRO,good to know.

Just ordered the 911 cover and Big Venom clutch kit. Looking forward to testing, will share my thoughts once installed.

Last night I was by Dave_RX1 and he has his 2016 with the new head and valve cover. We had both sleds tore down to expose the components and see the differences.

The clutching components are the same as the 2014 and 2015, same springs, weights and helix. The exhaust will bolt up exactly the same. The oil filter is in the same location. Only changes are to the head and valve cover....the bottom end stays the same.

This 2016 engine update is on my list to do when the snow flies to check clutching (just to make damn sure) that people will be happy with their Big Venom kit. Now with the 6 Vipers, we have pretty much every aspect covered for testing.

Absolutely.... it's safe to install the kit right away.

Some are going to run the stock setup for a little while to see the difference between the stock setup and Thunder Products kit from Lonn. These are the ones that are curious about the engagement, pull and top speed differences.

Most of the guys I know.... that have purchased kits from Lonn, either rode my sled or know someone that has driven my sled and have installed the kit right away.

Lonn will answer any questions you have by phone... and with all our support here...you will get the help you need if you have any questions or problems :)

Since this question applies here, what are the torque specs for the weight pin bolt ?, the roller pin bolt ?, the spring cap cover ?, the helix nuts ?, and the bolts to hold each clutch to its shaft ? This is my first Yamaha, dealer said the 2016 service manual is not available yet. Thanks, SwampCat.

I will get those and post them here. Was going to do this back when....but slipped my mind. ;)!

Just a quick question here . I have a viper ltx 137 skid . What is the final weight of each arm after you load the arm up with with . The stock weight is 48 but what is it after you load it up . Just curious to see how much weight is the viper pulling . Thanks for any advice

I will have to check as it depends on the application. Since the EVO flash, the weights are set lighter to get more rpm's.

With the setup I got from lonn my weights end up weighing 67.8 grams . I think that is lots . I'll call him to check . Thanks
