Getting off the beaten paths of the same old threads ,I figured it might be interesting to hear from you guys about what your thoughts and ideas might be interesting to share with the rest of us riders what you may have heard about the 2018 Yamaha snowmobiles seeing it will be their 50th anniversary. If you have some info or any ideas let's hear and share your thoughts to get some new excitement rolling on the threads.
Well here we go again. Calendar still shows 2016, the 2017's have not been delivered and you want to talk about the 2018 line up.

I know its kinda early to be mentioning about a sled that's presently not in existance as of yet and you must be very anxious to ride on the new Sidewinder,I was just attempting to create a new conversation piece about something different and interesting than the old threads everyone is trampling on.I guess old news is bad news,no news is goods news.

Any news about sleds is good news, I hope
It's gonna be interesting to see how many Sidewinders get sold this year. Especially how many get sold to guys coming from other brands. If Sidewinder sales are big success, I wonder whether Yamaha will do anything other than continue to buy private label sleds from Cat.
Not to de-rail this thread, but as long as we're speculating, I'm already hearing that next winter has good potential to be a very strong La Nina' - which typically brings lots of snow. Kinda has me thinking about buying a deeper lug track (LOL!!). I'm no weather geek, but I've heard one tell-tail sign of a La Nina' winter is an increase in tropical storms during the summer and late summer months. Not sure if that's good news, but keep an eye out for tropical storms and hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico, or over Florida they say, as it could be a sign of things to come.

Wait, so El NinO (masculane) is the bitch-no snow last season and El NinA (feminine) is ideal...seems backwards.
I would think best case for the brand next season would bring a new Phazer(ish) smaller, lighter, more nimble sled at a lower price, something to update that area of the market. Same Viper, Apex (maybe more tweaks), SW, and so on...

What beyond the plastics could be done in carbon fiber? Make thin light parts and wrap them in cf?

I'm thinking bng in anniversary colors. At least that's what I'm hoping so I don't get jealous because I got this year's Sidewinder!
I hope Yamaha buys AC and makes a Turbo Carbon Fibre framed 300hp 4cylinder for Mountain guys and a N.A. 900 cc 12000 rpm gear reductioned 2cylinder Phazer motored version for trail guys 150hp+. Both with suspension as good or better than the Viper and Sidewinder.

I know ONE thing. By this exact time next year, we'll be wondering who's aftermarket exhaust to put on whatever comes out.
