I needed to edit my post. All Japan made models will be gone after this season. Everything labeled Yamaha will be made by Cat, Yamaha to only supply engines.
So this means that in MY18 to celebrate it's 50th year in the snomo biz that all Yamaha branded sleds will be built by Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls?

Yes
Hopefully there will be more to it than that.

If that's the case I would say that is significant news in the snowmobile industry.
I wonder when Yamaha is going to make the official announcement to the snowmobile media?

I would imagine the "cat" will come out of the bag soon.

I was referring to RIDGONE'S post of all Arctic Cat built Yamaha branded sleds starting in MY18.
I didn't see any mention of that fact in MrSled's link, which by the way has a lot of promising news.

Mr. sleds post pretty much says what I said. There is no mention of a North American or Canadian manufacturing facility. To quote " The Yamaha North American Snowmobile Division is busily preparing for the arrival of the first Sidewinder Series of snowmobiles, the most powerful snowmobiles ever released!"
Where is that sled made??
TRF has expanded their Snowmobile manufacturing line over the summer. And the best selling yamaha sleds in over a frigging decade are made in TRF. I'm not saying Yamaha sleds are going to be all cat designed and engineered, sure Yamaha is going to have their hand in there some. But sleds from japan are gone.
Hey, dont shoot the messenger..The writing has been on the wall for quite a few years..

The new North American Snowmobile Division will take the lead in managing Yamaha’s worldwide snowmobile business, including product development, business planning, and marketing. The objective is to bring greater focus to North America by increasing speed of product development, improving coordination and efficiencies with industry partners, and better research and product planning decisions due to closer proximity to the market.
