Not looking to start which company is better. Looking for a reliable tune without having to add or change a lot of things. Thinking single tune with exhaust. Already have thunder clutching and would like to adjust them to what’s needed. Some say anything over 250 you have to think about changing gears, is that true? With so many options now it’s hard to decide on what to go with. I’ve heard turbo dynamics 270 power trail with 2.5 force exhaust and sounded good. Only one I’ve heard in person. Any info would be awesome. Thanks[/QUOTE

Blevis, Sorry screwed up the last post.Personally I think Powertrail SM 250hp is one of the best trail tunes out there. I use it most out of eco trail and ms 16 in the bundle. Nice smooth power delivery which I like. It runs @ 15.4 psi day in and out. I have used 87 octane in Canada last year and no knock light on some pretty good full throttle runs. No BOV needed, no 3 bar needed. Cool IC temps even after a long run. MS 16 is stronger down low and closer to 270 hp with a 3 bar tune. The 2 bar ms 16 is about 260 hp. With the max spool you will need more traction, BOV and a 3 bar for best hp and better gas. They both can tap out stock gearing on the top end. If I were you I would get the bundle of stock muffler tunes from TD or Hurricane. Both good companies. At my age 58 I am done with loud mufflers.

Wife looks at my sled and say "how many thousand did that sticker cost".
I said I got them for free from Hurricane.
She's not wrong either.
Tunes are great.

Have you notice any heating issues with your stock muffler tunes? I guess 250-260 hp with stock mufflers gonna build some back pressure?

I ran the stock muffler tunes (MS16) a couple years back and I found after hi speed trail riding for extended lengths of time that the muffler would be super hot once stopped. I threw snow into the sled one time cause I thought it was on fire.

First season for me with a tune, kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I did the Hurricane 240 SS SM CL. I have 2400 flawless miles on it this year but did get the knock light from a tank of fuel but only when hammering on it. Ran the tank dry and all was good.

My 2 cents... Don't waste your money on it. I've spoke to many that don't see any difference in power or fuel mileage.Ok this is probably going to sound stupid but what’s closed loop?

I agree... Like I said earlier the Hurricane 240SS SM tune is around 250ish hp, I believe. It only requires 89 but 91 preferred. It smooth, but it hits hard when you smash the throttle and pulls hard. 15-16lbs of boost. I seen 17.6 on it Sat morning. It was ripping.Blevis, Sorry screwed up the last post.Personally I think Powertrail SM 250hp is one of the best trail tunes out there. I use it most out of eco trail and ms 16 in the bundle. After talking with thunder and ulmer I was thinking precision 250 with sandal exhaust. Now you all got me thinking stock muffler. Decision to make. I like the idea of hurricane and turbo not having to send them the ecu. I believe precision I have to send it to Allen or thunder.
