Are TurboR tunes the same as hurricanes? Are the SM tunes super spool?
It seems everything on the TurboR website is $40 to $100 cheaper than Hurricane.
TurboR does have a nicer website IMHO
Maybe the fact Hurricane can ship from the US evens out the $$$$ amount in the end.
I just received a $650 order from Canada. UPS banged me $20 for "entry preparation" Then a $14 "Disbursement" fee
I then had to pay an additional $111 "Government charge"-----Tariff
Overall an additional $145 over my $650 order.
Maybe Hurricane avoids these charges by having an address in the US. I paid none of these fees on my last order from them.

I just bought a set of headlights for my robot lawnmower. $113.00 CAD shipped, I payed and extra $86.00 in duties, brokerage, and additional taxes. Buy local if you can. I also found out you can fight the duties because the shippers are too lazy to figure out the right tax classification codes, I should be getting $66.00 back from the government... some day, maybe. Back to your regularly scheduled programming. Are TurboR tunes the same as hurricanes? Are the SM tunes super spool?

The graphics on the hurricane site actually say turbor performance. And on the turbor site the opposite. I don't know how hurricane can ship from the US. Both are in canada, and importing is importing.

They also have a US address.
United States
808 Commerce Park Drive, Unit 4658
Ogdensburg, New York 13669
That's a service called 'my US address'. Basically a drop box for shipments, product still would be imported. If either can ship to you from US then maybe you don't get the extra hit or they absorbed it somehow. Ahh, and that myusaddress company is right next to a shipping broker, nice. Looks like Hurricane has it sorted out.

My understanding of hurricane tunes is 225 is for stock clutching, will need 3bar map if superspool tunes, 240 on up will need aftermarket weights to be able to adjust easily, I would get the bundle 225-240-270 ss sm, ran this for a few yrs on 240-270 and was great, have updated to more power now lol. I ran the Dalton 70gr weights if running the xs825 belt, then you can adjust them in 5 minutes if you want them right on for hp or you can set them up to work well with 2 tunes , I set just a little heavy for 240 witch makes for very smooth and hard pull then 270 will be a little revy and want to pull wheelies.

Always use mail when shipping across the border.
USPS and Canada post.
I'm aware there is strike issues here currently.
I don't know why, but I buy a lot of parts off ebay and as long as they ship it United States Postal Service, I never have duty charges of any significance.

Its becoming less predictable. I too use USPS as often as possible but just prior to the strike I had two packages held up, both for tariffs and duties. Prior to this fall I would never get dinged for USPS deliveries.

About twenty years I've been buying the majority of my used parts off ebay. Its becoming less predictable. I too use USPS as often as possible but just prior to the strike I had two packages held up, both for tariffs and duties. Prior to this fall I would never get dinged for USPS deliveries.
That sucks to hear you had a couple packages hit with duties. I'll take notice of my next ones.

Turbor and Hurricane use the same tunes up to 300hp. Above the 300hp mark they go separate ways and the tunes are different. This is what Dave at Turbor told me before I purchased some higher HP tunes. It was also stated the HP levels associated with the tunes may not be accurate, they focus more on boost PSI to relate to the tunes. I believe this is the same with all the tuners, and you really can't go wrong with any of them. I've owned different winders and tried all 4 of the common tuning company's. I will say that not having to carry a flasher around with you and having the built in dash upgrades that PEFI offers is nice, but there is no option for datalogging with PEFI through dash.
All depends what you want to do and how far you want to go with the sled.
