Ulmer Racing cold air intake

Do we need to put a sock over this filter and does it come with one?

View attachment 126492 I believe he uses Alphas kit which I have. No real world testing as of yet. Looks nice and frees up a lot of space
Mighty,do you think anyone running just trails needs this filter,is it manily for guys running off trail,or mountains, with it deep and steep!

Stock with no muffler, just added CAI will pick up 6-7 hp and quicker throttle response, is it huge, no, is it safe with stock tune, yes.

The CAI will work with any of the EVO flashes, the AFR does stay safe, I can not comment on any of the other tunes available from other manufacturers.

The CAI with the Stage 1 flash and stock muffler, works excellent for those that want stealthy, it's a 30 hp increase over stock, while maintaining the stock muffler yet.

The Stage 4 flash with a 3" muffler & CAI is horsepower king (270).
Great news and thanks for the specific info Allen!

K&N filter it looks like??? I know they are supposed to stay dry. So any snowdust is not good IMO.

I would run the sock that Allen includes on trail for sure.

Will be nice to add a belt clip to the belt guard for spare then...

It's not a K&N, but a custom built filter for Alpha. Very high quality dry, non oil. Mine didn't come with the prefilter as I bought it before they had prefilters made. Fortunately, outwears makes a bazillion different sizes.

Interesting...it sure looks like k&n ......I assume its same material that should not get wet?

I spoke with the maker of the kit who said he wasn't happy with the K&N and had someone make this one for his kit. Alpha is molded in the end piece. That prefilter has a waterproof treatment.
