Hey...somebody has to document the rides!! You get good shots of Salmon River Falls and a group of non-disclosed gentleman of questionable sexual preference huddling together in the back corner of a lean-to.
Should have posed nice for Jimmy Olsen and his camera fellas!

MrSled said:Since some of us on the site feel this is a big joke, let me tell you why this is becoming affective. 1st off any ride that I organized always had a sign off sheets, just in case of an accident. Here is the real reason for this new sheet sign off.
I attended a ride for about 10 years that was organized by a by friend. This past year, 2 people were killed on the ride but it was not the fault of the riders or the group that organized it. It had to do with trail structure and so on. The family realized it was no ones fault but circumstance but once the Life Insurance was paid out, the Insurance company went after anyone they could blame..... and its not going well.
I just don't want to be in those shoes or have anyone else in that predicament. Is this all that bad to think? This is made to protect everyone involved on the website.

Here are the popular results for our NY ride. We will have it Wed. Jan 12th-Saturday Jan.15th. We will be staying at the Stone Manor Motel on Wed. thru Friday nights. Those who want to ride their sleds up to Cranberry lake, can park at my House (The first 3 anyways, the rest will have to park at Smith Rd, or Mapledale Bowling alley and meet us on the trail, we will make arrangments). We will leave from my house at 10 AM. on Wed. Jan. 12th. Be here and ready to ride at 10, not pulling into my Driveway at 10 AM. I will make arrangments with Mr. Pitstop where we will meet him to get us to the hotel. We will be riding up in that area on Thurs. and Friday. On Saturday we will leave and ride back to my house. For those who do not want to do the bagger trip or can't ride the whole 4 days, you can meet us at the Hotel at 9 AM sharp, and ride with us both days or either day. If there is not enough snow we will revert back to Tug Hill for the trip. We will decide this with about 4 days to go depending on the snow conditions and my forecast, which is usually 98% correct. There is no cancellation policy at the Stone Manor Motel. Just make your reservations for the nights you are staying there. They do not take deposits, You just pay when you get there. So you lose no money if we have to cancel. The Telephone # for the Stone Manor Motel is 315-848-2678. It is located on Rt. 3 on Cranberry lake. Any questions just Pm me. Thanks, gordon

Sounds good. I call first parking spot at BBW's house!!!
Dan, any word with overnight parking at the bowling alley in Mapledale? I am assuming overnight parking at Smith Road parking area should not be an issue as I believe many that live in cabins/cottages leave their vehicles for the night, sometimes the week, if not longer.
On a seperate note, my shots I took were not intentionally directed in any way towards Totallyamaha or Mr. Sled. I understand the waiver is just to protect the interest of Mr Sled and TY. I was merely trying to poke fun at the RIDICULOUSNESS of the sue-happy society we live in and how people have to protect themselves from being dragged into a frivilous lawsuit. My apologies if my words were taken in any offensive manner towards TY or in any way that was not humorous, as was their intent. Just wnated to clear that up. Thanks for your time....we now go back to our regularly scheduled program.

Looks like most who have posted to this topic have indicated the January 12-15 dates were fine so let's go with that. I've already mentioned at work that I want the 11th to 16th off.

OK.... You guys can start sending your thanks my way. Of course now that I am out of sledding, I have 4' of snow on the ground in my yard right now and will probably get another foot by Thursday morning. Next week sounds like the same thing again.
So I'm thinking?
How much is it worth it to you guys to keep me from getting another sled. You can send your donations in any amount.
I'm warning you!

Just got off the phone with the bowling alley. they said that its ok to overnight park there. i just need to call them when it gets closer and let them know how many trailers will be coming. so if anyone plans to leave from there make sure to let us know so i can relay the message when it gets closer.

I did about 30 miles around Star Lake yesterday, lots of powder but no base but hopefully by the weekend the trails will be decent. Rumer has it the groomers have been out in Cranberry Lake area, I might head up there today...
January dates sound good to me I'll officially put in my request when I get to work tonight.. Should be no problem, Im the only one who likes to take time off in the winter..
BBW, just drop me a pm sometime as this gets closer and let me know where you want to meet. Gas in Cranberry is premium but its only available at the Cranberry Lake Lodge on the water and its quite $$$$ so if you will be passing through Star Lake first, I'd recommend everyone run up to the Nice & Easy and fill up, that would also be a great spot for me to meet up with you guys and get ya up to Cranberry Lake....
The Stone Manor is the best choice IMO... Its in the middle of town, the price is good and no cancelation fee... I also know the owners Karen and Jean and they are great people, I was their first employee when they bought the place years ago. I cooked and waited for them for years when I was in college... Great people..
Oh... And they have the best breakfast around. If you are into french toast get the stuffed french toast, you won't regret it....
Can't wait to meet everyone... OH BTW.. Is it ok if my wife rides with us... um... she rides a poo xc 700 but shes really fun and maybe I can put a paper bag over the hood of the sled so we don't have to be grosed out by the puke on the hood... LOL... I pick on her about it all the time..
I also have no probelm signing a waiver. I can even collect them up and mail them out if no one else wants to, im at the post office every day so it would literally take less than a minute out of my life.. Its ashame that its necessary to protect the site but with the economic times, sue happy america is getting worse and mentally challenged judges come up with some of the stupidest rulings I have ever heard of.. So whatever it takes.... no problem.
