Update from "ttabs Nytro mod shop"

Jeb & Nathan at NW do actually cut a recessed hole in the tank to accomodate the Turbo and heat shield. You lose about 1/2 gal capacity. They plastic weld the things back together.

MT and I will send in our 10 gal tanks for mod and install them on the sleds.

I've been digging this thread. Thanks for you posts, pics, and descriptions.

Can we make requests? How about your riser setup? It's a simple mod, but I've been looking to change mine up and don't like the PowerMadd risers I picked up. Think I'm gonna return them and look for something else. My main feeling is I need to go 3-4 inches forward then up about 5. I'm 6"1 and my beer gut keeps taking the bars on climbs.

I used to follow your thread on Dootalk before. Good to see your here...

How about running boards? Going for Better Boards?

I'm not sure I would be satisfied with the NW stage 1 setup...I wonder how long it will take you to go to stage 2,3,4 or 5... :nos

Good thread...good info and good pictures...cant go wrong...

well, two hours in the garage tonight, have the front end kit fully out, and since I was doing that I pulled the sway bar...I went the easier route (will post pics later....summary, I tried cutting bar...no dice, 5 blades in the sawzall and only 1/4 way through, so, since front end was fully off, just cut the brackets...15 seconds each side...EASY CHEESY!!!!

The Timbersled instructions for this (Barkbuster front end)...NOT very helpful (being kind here) So, I will (if TTabs wants) post full new directions and save you all some SERIOUS time and effort...but they are SIGNIFICANTLY lighter, and SOOOOO much cooler!!!!!

After some time in the garage yesterday, I got that sway bar out. I tried the sawzall and quickly gave up. Now I know why TTabs had that smirk on his face when he said to go for it with the saw. :crap:
The cordless Dewalt grinder I had made much easier work. (I said it wasn't harbor freight)

I got the fox floats delivered this weekend and the old shocks out. Just need some smaller diameter bolts and some washers to finish up the install.
Going to pound the local trails in a few days to try them out. Can't wait!

Barkbusters

Ok, here are a couple quickie pics of the barkbuster...the install went really good after I ignored the directions...

The whole front plastic kit comes off VERY easily, and even made the sway bar removal a 10 minute project (after I quit trying to cut the sway bar, and just cut the brackets it is mounted to :) )

Will post some directions in light of this being the mod shop, but weighed the parts on and the parts taken off, and the Barkbuster does indeed save 9 pounds as advertised...

Do you have any closer pics of where the oil line is that leaks when tippped on the right side. How about a check valve type of set up like maybe a pcv valve on a car engine. Something like that.

Hey Smitty doesn't this sled look like it could use one of your lift kits for the guys that don't get the new skid?

I think Smitty needs to get some seat time on one, so that he can figure out the proper torsional and flux capacitor positioning!!!

i.e. boondoggle trip!!!!! or boondocking trip...but we got POWDER and lots of it for this time of year!!!!

I do not own a Nytro (yet), but I have an idea possibly worth trying to avoid the oil in airbox. How about just adding a loop into the vent line that would go from the oil tank then out to the left, as far as possible, then back to the airbox?

Anyone want to try it, or anyone know why this wouldn't work?
