Viper Updates...


Only diff between the shocks is the fill valve for the air. Not a big deal between the 2's and 3's. Valving is what really matters. We will find out if its right soon enough.

Do you recall if the side panels were painted or colored plastic? I believe the hood is painted just not sure on the side panels.

Also how do you know the panel fit and finish was improved, was this your observation or is Yamaha saying this?

The Prototypes I took the side covers off of it was much easier to remove and install them vs the 12 and 13 Cats. 13 cats also had a thmbscrew to keep panel tight and that isnt on the 14's. I think thats the improvement they made.

They look to be colored plastic. As far as fit and finish, I noticed it and it was also pointed out to me.

Hey guys. . . Just lurking here but I figured I would post.

I checked out the prototype viper at princeton a week ago.

Side panels fit like the 13 cats did. The thumb screw on the clutch panel was on the 13 cat. Nothing wrong with the vipers I would like to just point out that the 2013 procross plastic fit a ton nicer than the 2012 did. I think the marriage between cat and yamaha will be good fro everyone. I had alot of guys ask me my opinion last weekend. . . Someone must have though I had an opinion. Either way my opinion is that I hope that the yamaha guys can help cat to make better clutches and the cat guys can give you yamaha guys a better chassis over the nytro. We can all get along.

Wow, Im impressed with the fixes! My Cat turbo chewed up a set of stock drivers in 600 miles! I had to add my own extros, nice work!

and to hear they have added a manual tensioner and billet gears too!

Does anyone know if all this is getting added to the cats too? I think Yammie has address all the issues I had with cat, and I think the belt/clutch issues will be non existant on the yammie due to proper mounts/tcl ect ect..and reliable yammie clutches.

2014 Cat's will also have extrovert drivers on the models that did not last year ...and a new belt guard.
 
Rockerdan, how about a little report on that '12 Cat. Good & bad. Maybe you can report on that Doo this year because i believe you'll give an honest view. I miss the avatar with your RTX & flat A-arms.
 
Think they will come out with a race replica one like cats RR? Obviously they have an rtx, but didn't know if there would be an SE race sled any time this fall?
