The new cp pistons will be 9.5-1 compression
The new cp pistons will be 9.5-1 compression
Will you test the engine with just the rod replacement? Just to test the new crank and piston ?

if my sled is a early or late build ?
Look for the Black Rubber plugs in valve cover right side. If it has them its early.

Why use Yamaha rings on CP?

Why use Yamaha rings on CP?
There has been less oil consumption with Yamaha rings then the aftermarket ones. I'm not saying CP have issues, but I did find JE and wiscoe using, Dave made some apex Pistons a couple years ago that used Yamaha rings and it worked really well
Got it. I just have always had really good luck with CP and their rings. Could always tell they were much harder than JE or Wiseco when filing the gaps bought a grinding wheel just for that reason. Files barely would touch them. No biggie though save some cash this way too.
