Warning, -16 late build Viper turbo breakdowns, bad rods.

Lol, you guys keep caudiling this company and you will continue to get what you 've been getting.
Ever wonder why the AC version of the same snowmobile isn't having the issues you guys are?
I've said it before and I will say it again the Japanese don't care what round eye have to say, they follow there own philosophies. I have worked along side them since the late 80's, in one ear and out the other.
Apparently you didn't pay attention when the 1100 turbo came out.......

You are right I do not own a Viper, reasons because I do not own one is all in the viper section.
I am sure if you go through the pages you will see why.

They were blowing belts when boosted beyond stock, big difference between belts and rods going through the block
Unless you consider it the same.

There were over 15,000 Vipers sold worldwide, and pretty much anybody with problems ended up here. Last count I didn't see anywhere near 15k people with issues here. But no more responses to your posts from me as I just discovered who you are.

Back on topic for me

Ok there Sherlock, I will stay out of your section. That way I don' t hurt you big boy feelings. Lol

Stop. Enough has been said already. Let Yamaha have the last say with their actions. That is what matters. That the owners get taken care of and our brand is kept at a high level. This is not how things get done.

My friend has one that is bone stock. First two seasons belts wouldn't last past 100 miles. Spent all it's time in the shop and was un rideable. They eventually got it sorted out though. Every manufacturer has issues once in a while. Polaris with the 900s, ski doo with every 800 twin they've ever made, now yamaha. The greatest engine manufacturer in power sports has an issue with a supplier and everyone looses their minds. Ha ha. They'll make it right.

Hate to beat a dead horse fellas but..... Third party rumor- Yamaha is sourcing their "new" engine from China. Kemco knock off, they can produce it much cheaper. Any one else heard such things? My Cat buddies are trying to rub my nose in it....

Message from my dealer today

Yamaha told me this morning there not stoping customers that have already installed the turbo kits from riding for now. But they are advising customers to make sure that your sled is not over reving, overheating and make sure you breakin your sled carefully. That's the story right now and they are still working on this with Japan and Mpi.

Is it Kemco or Kymco? Kymco is a Taiwan company!!!!! If ur buds r giving u a problem and they mean Kymco, then let them know that Kymco makes ALL cat 500 or less CC atv's and they have been doing this for years.......................I have a Kymco 375 maxxer atv and it's a nice little atv for what it is!!!!! I googled Kemco and could tell if it's an engine build place

First of all this is just plain silly. Why would an engine company hire a 3rd party to build their engines? They all out source parts but that is different. Your Cat buddies do realize that all the 7000 series sleds have Yamaha motors in them right?

on contraire pierre why would Honda hire Isuzu to build them an SUV? why would Scion (Toyota) hire Subaru to make them a sports car? Why would Ford hire Yamaha to build a motor for the SHO? maybe they are smarter than we give them credit for and got A/C on the hook now they are going to outsource and make more money by not making anything? Isn't that how it works here?

Come on stingray. Thats just nonsense.
Theres tons of viper owners that dont get involved in online forums.
You cant possibly believe what you are saying
I ride with a group of over 15 different people over the course of the winter.
Of all those people i am the only guy that belongs to and gets involved on a snowmobile forum.
And please believe me, every one of these guys loves sleds and has had some major problems with thier sleds

It doesnt have nothing with over reving. It have a rev limiter.
