Guys, Last time out when I was riding I had couple issues:
Gage pod was cutting out and in. I have checked the usual places for chaffed wireing, front wire harness, Handlebar wires and Battery cable tightness, all wires I could get to. I taped a couple spots and the problem appears to be fixed.
sounds like belt wine when idleing? noise tends to go away once rpms are higher during riding. It sonds like possible water pump? belt driven? Can I adjust belt tension?
Thanks

The water pump is chain driven inside of the motor, no way to adjust that.

SRXspec, Thanks for the reply, No way that the noise is chain or gear noise. What else could it be?

Yes, I did put on new drive belt, Noise seems to be comming from the motor and not the clutch area. Goes away on RPMs come up.

the noise should go away after a coulpe hundred miles. mine does that evey time i change the belt. my excuse is i am too lazy to re-shim the secondary for the 200miles it takes the new belt to wear in. just about all the squealing belt threads have instructions on how to shim the secondary.
in other words, it is normal.
