I have a 2014 viper ltx se and the primary clutch is not shifting out to the top. I heard thru the grape vine that there might be a spring for secondary that might help this issue? Is there any truth to this. Thanks
If you are running the 8JP length belt it will not shift all the way out to top unless you have alot of power like Turbo.I have a 2014 viper ltx se and the primary clutch is not shifting out to the top. Am I understanding you right. The sled does not make enough power to shift out completely and I need to add a turbo to shift the clutch out completely. If you are running the 8JP length belt it will not shift all the way out to top unless you have alot of power like Turbo.
Yes IF you insist on shifting out all the way. But keep in mind the further you go into overdrive(shifted out) the less efficient the cvt clutch is. Takes alot more power for little gain. Is other ways to get full shift but it wont gain you a darn thing. Gear it down or add a ton of mods like I did and you will get close with stock gearing. Switch to a 8DN length belt and you will shift out but you wont gain any speed unless something is wrong with your clutching as is. You gain speed/shift with power there is no way around that fact. Pick a rpm. 8900-9100 is about perfect. If thats where your at add power which will cause over rev then add weight to clutch and it will shift out more and give you speed. Aint gonna happen without more power.Am I understanding you right. The sled does not make enough power to shift out completely and I need to add a turbo to shift the clutch out completely.

If you still want a spring that won't bind try the Thunder products Blue spring or get there whole kit. You may not have the power for full shift out, but coil bind will affect top end and make the sled feel like it just hits a wall. Some guys were also cutting the pocket in their helix deeper. Send Nos Pro or Shagman a PM
Or regear higher like I did. No chance of spring bind since no way I will ever get full shift.
