I guess I fall into the me too for not trying the Tuners that came on my SW Stx-Dx (137 Cobra track...no studs).
I already had a set of Curves on the Attak I sold so I put those on my SW with a brand new set of 6" Shapers. So far I am out to lunch on these. Maybe I put on the wrong carbides but they were Jekyll and Hyde in the UP a couple weeks ago. If I hit some fresh snow over a groom it would act like I was on a skating rink, down right scary coming into a corner. Other times it would corner with ease if it was packed and groomed.
I’m running Curves on my Winder, I had them first with 4” Jim’s and they darted on hard or freshly groomed trails, I called Curve rep about that and they recommend 4” leading edge, I’ve put it on and it didn’t make much if any different in darting department. Now I had 9” shapers bars and on loose snow on top of packed base they all over place . I’m out of ideas for now, I don’t know if should try different runners or ditch Curves.

Journeyman with any type of ski slips/glides it’s not that bad to load a sled with snowtrackers, I trailer every weekend and sled just glides up and down the trailer, the carbide is still lower than the blades on the snowtrackers.

On other hand I can say that shapers are biting corners much harder then dolly’s , and push less also. I still have tuners in my garage maybe I’ll try them with different runners.

I too have the Leading Edge's on these skis.......had them on my Attak too. I still have to old 4" round bar carbides from the other sled I could try. It's funny the Curve rep tells me I only need 4" carbide bars but on their website when I match my sled it says to use 6" carbides. One fella that sells Curves on that SW facebook page pushed me towards the Shaper bars but now I hear that the round bar is the better choice.
Another person on another thread here mentioned he could never get his Curves dialed in on his SW. Every time he thought he did if the conditions changed he was out in left field again. Claims he tried multiple skis being he worked at a dealership and liked the Mohawks and the Pilots the best. The reason I favor the Mohawks is they do help in float situations and I have driven Don's (VX1R's) sled which he has them on and I was very impressed. Don has taken the time though to really get his sled dialed in and he has lots of custom things done to it, shocks, widening kit......etc.
But as I mentioned, it seems many have used ST's on stock skis on different Yamaha sleds over the years and they just seem to work. I know Mike who started this thread uses them on most every sled and loves them.

Buddy on last week s trip , has a 17 850 skidoo XRS . We switched sleds the sled was under powered & was twitchy compared to my sidewinder with snow trackers ... He’s definitely thinking of switching, lots of questions about the SRX ...lol
Just a thought, but I'm guessing steering effort could be quite a bit more with the snow trackers on especially on hard pack and in icy conditions. The effort doesn't bother me coming from Simmons the hardest turning ski ever invented! I just like positive steering.

I too was victim to never trying the Tuner's and went to Curve's right away with Slim Jim's. Overall I like the Curves a lot, but feel the slim jim's push a bit more in the corners in looser snow conditions, compared to the 6" Round Bars I had on last year. Absolutely no darting with the Slim Jims and easily drive with one hand. Round bars provided better cornering with less push, but had slight darting on hard packed conditions. Have to make a decision which trade-off to go with.
With that said, big fan of the Curvers, but just ordered up some Semi-agressive snow trackers to try on the Tuners. Hope to try it out this weekend if they arrive in time.

Just make sure the dual carbides are parallel & use 3/8 washers to bolt down carbides. There is a lot of play in the holes where the carbides come up through the skiI too was victim to never trying the Tuner's and went to Curve's right away with Slim Jim's. Have not seen any mention of these on this site until now. I guy turned me on to these at the Bergland Bay Bar last month and said they were the sh%*.
With 2000 miles on my current set up I will try these on the next ride.
Cost is $100-$130.

The beauty of the SnoTrackers is they last forever. Supposedly they self sharpen.
My Apex has 12,000 miles on them & they handle so good, my Doo friend is buying an Apex & putting these on it.

Tuner 3's with Aggressive Trackers.
Work pretty Good IMHO.
Will try Semi's next time.
Hurricane / Turbor dealer who did some work on my sled tests all sleds he works on.
He said mine steered and handled much better than his personal sled .

Just got my xtx, like the skis on trail but the sled never has much ski pressure. Stays straight and corners well enough for how much the sled pushes. Goingt with the mountain skis off my brothers btx next year, I tend to do more off the trail riding around home so I'd like the wider ski on the front.

I have to say i really like the tuners, no darting very predictable easy steering they only push when its loose snow conditions i thougt they would of been a lot worse after all the negative feedback on here i'll have to try a square bar on the inside to see if that helps in the loose stuffI have a LOT of buddies now with Winders and most all of them are running or gone back to the tuner skis. Some just added a square carbide bar to the inside. It seems they push less in the corners than I do with the Pilots.
They all like them. They claim no push or darting. I know the one I rode a few years ago had the stock Tuners on and I also didn't notice any darting or pushing. I know a lot of it is conditions too but I thought they behaved really nicely.
Just curious because I see many pictures posted where MANY are running the tuners. I may go and bolt them on mine just to see how good or bad they really are. I actually have never ran them myself on my machine.
One of my hard charging friends swapped back from the pilots and likes the tuners, which says a lot.
