2014 Nytro xtx 1.75
Hi everyone,

I need some reassurance. I'm worried about the future of snowmobiling due to "global warming ". I bought a new 14 nytro xtx last year, love it but am stressed sled seasons will be shorter and shorter each year. Should I get out asap and buy a SxS? Or should I hang in there and keep my sled?

Think positive. Winter can't be worse than this year. Hell you're not too far from Mt. Valin where they're still riding. Maybe take some trips. Without snow i'd have to keep a girlfriend. Then the bitchin' part starts. There is NOTHING like riding' a snowmobile! I've owned street bikes, speedboats, hot rods, been skydiving, even had a threesome...oops sorry got off subject...there is NOTHING that pumps that much adrenaline for 12 to 16 hours like riding-a-sled!!!

I had to take off the winter of 14~15 cause of colorectal cancer, even tho that was a low snow year here for WI. it still sucked to not ride. I am not sure how people can just do nothing all winter. When hell freezes over I will ride there too. Cancer Free.

Good ole mother nature uis gonna give us ups an downs, but like Stevewithocd says, nothin better than being in the saddle for 16hrs...

Glad to see you're cancer free! That scare can make you realize ''do what makes you happy'' even if it's only for one weekend a year. If Hell freezes over, I'll ride with you there and run the Devil over with my new Sidewinder!

All you need to do is look at historical weather. Sure this year sucked for most. The last 2 years, however, by me were pretty good. Also, just watch you local news/weather. They usually say what the record high and lows were for that day. Surprisingly, some dates of warmest days during winter were many years ago. I always laugh when I see that and think about "global warming. " Then you see other times where records were other years. So, you would think if things were just getting worse weather wise, each year would progressively get worse. If that was the case, why was 2 years ago a great year? Why was there a worse year 10 years ago? No rhyme or reason. Some years will suck and others you will be able to ride more times than you actually have available. Like my dad always said, "you're going to have weather whether you like it or not." Just ride!

Here in ontario it seems we get one crapy one out of every three or four just not quite as bad as this year.

Funny comment. The last two winters prior to this one were banner. We rode right up until end of March those years with great riding. This year was a total disaster. Winter for me was maybe 4 weeks long. Every time we made a plan a thaw came through and skunked us. Planning somethin was more like gambling than planning a trip. And the warm snaps this year were way further north than recent years. I am trying to forget it and look forward to next year.

Yes the season could have been longer but I still managed to easily ride 2,368 miles this past year in lower Michigan. Specifically around Baldwin and Irons area. Just get out and ride.
