Yama-saki said:Hey Rock,
I know I don't know you, but I have a couple questions.
Here is the problem.
http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=93199
1st-
Does your Yamaheater have an individual switch for temp control or
Does it still use the factory toggle on the left side for infinite settings?
2nd-
Does this by pass the factory ECM that is giving me the hand warmer code now! I mean the dash flashes the code as of now, with your Yamaheater installed will the trouble light go off?
Price for an 03' RX-1 with shipping to Ottawa, on canada K2J 0S7
Thanks in advance.
Rob,
(I received this as a PM, and it may help others also, so posted here. Rock)
Hi Rob!
It is absolutely ok Dude!
I am here to help.
First off, I don't think you need a YamaHeater at this time.
Need to fix the underlying problem first.
1) The YamaHeater uses your existing factory controls
(Blue buttons on the left control)
2)The YamaHeater adds to, & works with, your existing ECU & Grips, so they have to be right.
Am pretty sure your ECU is fine & will help you find the cause of your problem & fix it.
(The factory ECUs are pretty darn tough! I abused many in testing and did not have ONE fail! It's the stator that is not so tough.)
Sent you my number via PM, will get you taken care of & on the trail riding!
Will also post in your thread.

Rock,
I have received the yamaheaters from Sled Toyz here in Canada and cant wait to install (Xmas gift so I will have to wait to install). Thanks for all the info in this thread. I will let you know how they turn out when I install them.
I do have one question that I cannot seem to find an anwere. How much of a draw on the battery when the yamaheater if turned on?

Hi sjs!
You will like having Warm Hands!
Technically, there should be no draw from your battery at all, as long as your sled is charging, the current comes from your stator.
(Check your idle speed & adjust according to your owners manual.)
The amount varies from sled to sled and is in the 4-5A range.
Let us know how you like!

Thank you guys!
I really appreciate that. : )
Am in Houghton right now for my first ride, and the first TY ride of the year.
What a great day yesterday!
Trails are thin, yet very smooth.
New sled is... well smooth... very smooth.
So here I am,
flying down this incredible trail, just the right amount of curves, hills, great scenery, riding my new sled, getting a feel for her...
and... The perfect song comes on in my helmet...
I'm thinking... THIS is awesome!!!
It just doesn't get much better than this!!!
Mike, one of the guys up with me says it this way...
It's not Miles, it's Smiles that count!
Thinking I agree...
How many smiles go into a perma-grin??? lol
For C-mas, I hope all of us many days like yesterday!

It was a really bad day Alan...
They made me ride down snow covered trails...
Steer around all these curves...
Sit on that comfy seat...
Press this little throttle lever thingy that kinda massages your brain...
Was terrible... lol
Love the sled! *beams*
