Picking up a new 2017 LTX SE tomorrow. I plan on running a gap flash and tune next season. Will this completely void any extended warranty i purchase? I know you can put the stock tune back in, but i would think that they could see that its been flashed... Any input would be great... Thanks

Extended warranty pretty much only covers the engine. So, yup. Kiss it good bye. The 1st year covers everything. If you seat warmer goes bad in that first year I would imagine they would fix it but if you flash it and something in the drive train goes it might be tricky.

flash will completely void your warranty, they will not cover anything even heated seat.

Yup. I recall getting the smarty junior programmer for the truck, that it was untraceable....but that's for a 2003 cummins.....then they figured how to trace it on later year trucks. Smarty told me always reload the stock program before going to a dealer as they can tell if it's not the stock program...for an 03.
I would imagine today the tech is such that they can tell.
Oh, and removing the rov also voids the warranty. So I've been told by a reputable dealer.

It wont void your warranty, but if the failure was deemed to be caused by the flash, then they can deny a warranty claim on that specific part. They cannot completely void a warranty because you put an aftermarket part on your sled.

So if your center cylinder burns down for example, and they check the recall on the ECU, and it shows you were running 20psi of boost, you might have a problem.

I have a 2017 LTX SE with 3600kms and not one issue and the same belt this machine is awsome.

I never understood why people feel the need to tune and modify these machines.

They pull so hard and I can tell you after 1600kms in Gaspe last week I never had the need to run it as fast as I could. Rode with 2 Vipers and 1 850 and 2 800 and guys who think they need the fastest machine should realize it's a waste of your time and money to try and get more power to a machine that has more than you need.

Buy it, ride it, enjoy it and save yourself the aggregation of voiding a warranty with a stupid tune and boost and bullshit.

Just my 2 cents

My extended Warranty covered EVERYTHING I took time to turn in right down to the heat blanket and Brake Master Cyl 5th year and at 10000mi. No deductible. Dealer just had to do the request. Yes you need a good dealer. Only thing I Warrantied that was questioned was when cross shaft ripped out and took out tunnel. They had to take pics to show no other damage. Brake Caliper,2 Top Gears previously. Yamaha Warranty is the best there is in Industry no doubt.

A waste of your time and money maybe. Not for a lot of us. I’ve been riding boosted turbos for miles of smiles since 2011. I drove my sidewinder stock for a weekend. After 8 years of riding 260HP + stock power levels is not an option. The ONLY reason I buy turbo sleds is because I can tune them and get that power level. If I could be happy with less HP I would be riding a 2 stroke
