    Aftermarket front suspension parts

i have had the same problem as Jabber with the MPI arms, bent the bolts in the spindles on both sides. Finally went back to stock, not the lightest, but they have held up well.

Bigger guy needs rear suspension help...

yamaha makes an alternate set of springs for heavier riders, you should be able to find it in the parts section of yamahas parts pages. I also am a larger rider, 285 lbs and my 05 rx1 mtn skid bottomed easily. I went with the alternate springs. a ohlins center shock from the old style nytros...

Anyone running 1.25 on there RX-1 MTN?

I cut my track, it didnt hold up too well, the powder tracks are designed for high speed trail riding 80mph plus, lost about 5 lugs. Since the I have put a 9004C 1 1/2" lug with no issues, 700 miles so far. Changed gearing to a 40/23 and had Jeff Simon set up a clutch kit for it, Jeff did an...

Problems with Apex GT EC shock?

Call Ohlins for a revalve, I had mine done it was $65, they replaced the bad X seal as they call it that causes it to blow. They also valved the shock to my specifications. While I agree the mono skid does build up alot of ice on it but I think it is very tuneable if you get the correct spring...

    OhlinsEC Wire

I broke the wire once, but it was my fault when I was taking the shock out for a revalve. I soldered it back together and used shrink tubing on it and have not had a problem in 1500 mi, the issue with the shocks blowing is what Ohlins calls an X seal, apparently the original ones did not hold...

    Challenger, Crossover or ripsaw???

i cut down my challenger to 1.5" after about a 1500mi season I lost about 5 lugs and some areas it tore right to the belts inside the track. I bought a 9004C Cross over and have been very happy with it, I put about 1200 miles on this season and have not seen any real wear on the track, I ride...

Plush Ride Without Bottoming (MONOSHOCK OWNERS)

I know there were alot of posts on this but here is my 2 cents and this is a fairly inexpensive solution about 165 bucks ( 100 for the spring and 65 for the revalve), since I am heavy about 280 I got the 7.1 spring, helped with ride height and it made my suspension lively, the problem was the...

    Wildchild kit or M7 skid?

The skid can be made to work really well, changed the shocks to Ohlins, I have them on my 03 and they work extreemly well. I use my sled for on and off trail not much in the steep and deep since we really dont get the super deep snow in WI or the UP of Michigan so weight isnt that big of an...

    front end widening kit

i have had the same results with the 45" wide front end from Pioneer, they are acutally made by Mountain Performance who advertises the 45" kit for trail sleds but then when you talk to them about it they say it wasnt designed for trail riding. Conclusion, dont by the wide front end it is a...

Vector Mtn W/O Rear Heat Exchanger?

I made a set of brakets to leep the heat exchanger in the stock position, it hangs a little below the extention now but I sometimes ride in low snow conditions so it worked out well. I will post some pics of the brackets later but here is a profile shot of the sled.

    wahl extrovert install

I bought a set of Wahl extroverts for my 05 RX1 MTN, the only problem is the mounting instructions are not very clear. I was also told that I may need to trim the drivers so they do not hit the W arm. My questions are: 1. Does anyone have the measurements for mounting the drivers on the...

    track question

I have the same track and I am installing extroverts, I was told that I need to trim the drivers so they do not hit the W arm, my sled is an 05 which has the pro mountain skid, do I need to trim them or is it only for the 03's and 04's.

Rider forward without the work? Pivoting/articulating riser

Frostbite, Take a look at the Rox adjustable height riser, the quality is much better and it articulates and you can vary the height if you like. It will cost a little more than the power madd riser but it looks much better and the quality is top notch. It will set you back about $150...

    stock pitch

does using a 9 tooth driver effect the overall gear ratio and clutching. I would assume so since it would have to be larger than an 8 tooth correct? Also what about clearance issues, are there any?
  19. R

    does this sound right?

I would imagine that with stock clutching and gearing at 115 on the dream meter you were well over 10400 on the tach. At least I was with my 05 when it was stock, I went with the 23/40 combo with heavy hitters, it will get you to around 105mph

ditto on Klim, it will last you for years, my gear is 4 years old and keeps me dry and warm. It is a little pricey but you wont have to replace it every couple of years
