Sorry Yamaha 10,000 kms and no new changes so bye bye

I agree with the OP. The bottom line when you change up sleds you want something new and or different. I came from AC that blew up 1 month outside warranty. Decided i wanted a well built machine after that. Not saying other manufacturers are not. However, i'm saying yamahas are considered...

what did they change from 2011 to 2012

I love this sled but the gas mileage is not great. I ride with my brother on a MXZ 500ss. We ride the exact same way. Our mileage is almost identical. My sled is broken in and in perfect working order. I thought there would be a small but noticeable benefit vs a 600cc 2 stroke???

    Honest Nytro Reviews Please

I came from an MXZ 600. I will never go back. Fit Finish/Durabilty/Suspension/Motor a far superior. Where this sled excels IMO is rough trails and corner to corner riding. If I were buying a sled with 1/2 my time powder riding I would look to an 800cc sled with low weight. I do not feel the...

Scarey sound coming from my skid ?

Thx for the replies. I've definelty had a chunk let loose and it sounds like my axel ripped off. This is more of a track rubbing sound. When i luck at the skid i don't really see where it is rubbing? From the previous posts sounds like it must be caused by the ice build up and i'm just not...

    just got a 2010 nytro...help!

i would do nothing until u ride it. I was thinking that i needed to buy ski when i purchased the sled. However i held off and one year later im still using factory skiis. There is a learning to curve to riding the Nytro fast. If you are al about climbing all over the sled to actively get it...

Scarey sound coming from my skid ?

At the end of our ride as the sled was coasting on perfectly flat snow almost ice I heard a grinding type noise coming from what appears to be the rear track wheels. I inspected everything and noticed nothing out of ordinary. Ofcourse, there was ice build up all along the skid. Sled rolls...

    need honest answer

I went from a 2007 rev to an 2009 RTX.. The Nytro is better in many respects(big bump capability/fit and finish/reliabilty/motor). However, the rev is better in the tight twisty trails. I feel more planted and confident cornering with the REV. I also felt is was slightly easier to maneuver...

    wet left foot

no disrespect intended here. I have a 2009 RTX. I ride my sled with a water proof insulated boot. I could not tell u if my left foot was wetter than my right. My feet are dry an warm within the boot. Does this wet left boot issue cause icing to build up on running board. I have not seen...

    Strange issue today

I had this issue as well. I feel like it was more prevalent upon start up. Snow was wet and track was hooking up almost to good. I feel like when belt and sheaves were somewhat cold ther could have been some slipage although i didnt smell and burnig or hear any sqealing. Almost felt like i...

What/who is the nytro made for??

i can't speak directly to the viper. However out of the hole i've seen very little that can stay with a nytro out of the hole. after 60 mph bigger sleds will start to pull away. Nytro excells corner to corner.

    Octane??

agreed regarding using "regular" when available. Couple places on the trail only dispense "super". Wanted to be sure there was no problem running super.

    Octane??

Will super unleaded hurt the sled in anyway? Will I notice a decrease in performance using "super"?

    Drive Belt ?

Thanks for the reply. I was just surprised how good the belt actually looked. I guess a slight variation in the belt can have significant impact.

    Drive Belt ?

My sled has about 500 mi on it. I towed another sled and smelled the belt burning. As soon as i smelled it i stopped. Anyway the sled never engaged as smoothly from that point on. I replaced the belt today at 700 mi and once again the drivetrain is smooth as butter. My question: When i...

    Floats and Float 2s

I have a 2009 RTX. Do you think my shox are 80% float 2's? In other words do you think it is worth the $300.00 for converting 09 Floats to Float 2's?

    XP vs Nytro

I've recently owned a ski doo. I purchased the 09 Nytro RTX: 1. fit and finish better on Yamaha 2. ski doo will hands down be a better trail sled 3. if you dont put tons of mileage on a sled and upgrade around the the 3 to 4 yr mark the ski doo is prabably a better choice 4. with all that...

Thinking of trading my 2010 XTX for a 1200 doo. Should I?

I also like to try new sleds. I believe the nytro and 1200 compare very well. One has attributes the other does not. I believe the 2/3 major differences are: Nytro: Better motor Ski doo: Better handling/weight I also would consider the ski doo when i'm finished with the Nytro. Thus...

    Good deal?

This is a tough sled. I have been pounding mine and seems to be holding up better than any past sleds. Fit and finish is excellent. I was at 9k out the door for the same sled with 2 year YES. I feel my deal was not a great deal. I had very little choice because they were the only ones...

    Thoughts on Nytro "summerization"

what do you think regarding fogging the motor?

    Nytro Belt question?

easy. I have a spare belt. Noticed the issue at the end of a powder day. Wife needed me home right away. I will change it at the begining of my next trip. Figured i would ask for some insight. Just in case i was missing something. The responses have validated my thoughts. Worn belt. Thx
