Unfortunately some of the things one might do to fix the pushing issue (get more weight on the skis for example) might even make the steering harder. Jack up the front so the skis are off the ground and make sure all the steering bushings are lubricated and not squeeeking or binding.

I have an 06 and an 07 Venture and both have the Yamaha saddle bags. They hold lots of gear for a full day ride and fit pretty well. I haven't looked but I hope you could still get them.

Cam chain adjuster if it sounds rattly. And pull the secondary and grease bearing, and under the secondary, grease driveshaft bearing. I use the Yamaha mountain skis.

The breather tube is off of the bottom of the air box. It's the smaller one that goes on under the right (riders rt) side.

The yamaha mountain skis work well for the rs venture. Keeps the front end from feeling like it's sinking too much.
