Isn't that what the 0 is for starts out as 0 weight and then goes to 40 weight0w-40 is too thick and will cause drag as well as not flow between the bearings as well as 0W-30

Yes that is somewhat correct... it has a flowabality of a 0 weight oil at winter/below 32°F temps... then as the temps reach 210°F it will meet the requirements for a 40 weight oil...
I believe "Mighty" was saying the 40 is a bit heavy to run!!! Won't flow by the bearings and rings...

Yes, too thick to flow once it reaches operating temperature. A few years back, Mike Knapp ran 0-30 in his Apex and decided to switch to 0-40 at an oil change. He quickly realized that it slowed his sled down. He runs with the same guys so he can compare. He switched back to 0-30 and the speed returned
